Posting usually involves some shorthand, but the initials can get a little confusing sometimes. Here is a list to help with our site’s often-used acronyms.

These are some acronyms you may not have seen elsewhere!

both - bottom of the hour, such as 1:30
bwp - basic weekly plan
cci - challenge check in
ci – check in
chaos - can't have anybody over syndrome
conga - Friday – explained in About PWYC
cuop - catch up on posts
d2s - dress to shoes
dw - dishwasher
in the box - a system of using 3x5's for dailies, weeklies, monthlies developed by Pam & Peggy
lol - load of laundry
LOL - Laugh Out Loud
poda - parade of daily adventures (to do list)
poof - disappear, as in a puff of smoke to do a challenge, etc.
pwyc - post when you can
s2s - shower to shoes, meaning showered and dressed to shoes
SHE - Sidetracked Home Executives (from Pam and Peggy's 1977 book)
SHE - Sidetracked Homemakers Everywhere (from our site's header
tada - something that you're proud of
thread - when you look at a forum such as PWYC, you see topics. A topic - plus all the responses/replies to that topic is a thread.
toth - top of the hour, such as 1:00
TTFN - ta ta for now

These are slightly more common acronyms that we also use.

ds - dear son/sis
dss - dear step-son
dd - dear daughter/dad
dsd - dear step-daughter
dh - dear husband
dil - dear in-laws
dsil - dear sis/son-in-law
dbil - dear bro-in-law
dmil -dear mother-in-law
dfil - dear father-in-law
dgd - dear granddaughter
dgs - dear grandson
dm - dear mom
dgks - dear grandkids
df - dear friend

SHEM - SHE motivational after posting three posts in a row.
