We have a spectacular day. It is sunny and in the upper 40s.

I'm learning about the Eco systems of ponds. We have a pond that is stocked and it has 3 fountains. To keep the geese away The natural grass around the pond isn't cut. It makes a great natural setting. The crane liked the high grass around its nest.

I'm also working the path of the moon and flight paths to O'Hare, Midway and Gary airports. Also the path of Venus.

Hello dear Ladies,

Indiana, your pond sounds like a wonderful spot.

I didn't get my dailies done----yet.

Had to work on paperwork for DH's renewal of health insurance. DH told me to look up what I put down last time, of course it is stored in one of my black holes of paperwork. I can never get a good system going for paperwork. I looked but couldn't find it, of course it could have been there but looks different from this year's app and I just went by it.

DH doesn't want this sent off via this internet as it has too much personal info in it. Like SSN for one thing, so I don't blame him for wanting to mail it, but it makes the deadline for it sooner and more stressful for me.

The dogs kept wrestling with each other and making noises, it distracted me so much that I marked the gender box wrong 3 times.

Hopefully the afternoon will go better.

Sadie Can you take the paperwork to the UPS center and fax it? That is secure (phone to phone, not over a network) and fast.

Dh is washing the car because it is warm here too. It was really cold over the weekend (10 degrees) but has popped over freezing again.

I'm spinning my wheels but have eaten lunch. Dh got the bill paid but not without trouble. The collection agency rep told him he could pay online but there was not amount on the online so he had to phone for the amount. Then no on-line confirmation so he had to call back after paying (there was no way for them to take his payment over the phone.) We still don't have a copy of the bill. That comes from the physicians' group and they aren't answering their phone. The hospital refunded our deposit because the physicians' group is who is supposed to bill us. If the hospital isn't to bill us, why did they take a deposit in the first place OR why did they refund it rather than transfer it to the physicians' group. Kind makes the whole deposit thing seem unnecessary.

I'm going to sort chits now and then update quicken. That will get a lot of paper off my kitchen table. Might process the mail from last week while I'm at it.

Sorry to be pressed into posting without CUOP.

I'll save CUOP for a treat later.

Just back from my ddad's appt with the new specialist. I said, "After reading about this diagnosis on the internet as your nurse suggested, I found a couple things I'd like to ask you about." (that's how little input he gave last time - nurse had to suggest internet for my questions.) After my first question, he answered by saying there was a pill (only word used) for that symptom and he would get his nurse to give me a script right away. And off he went quickly, never to be seen again. When nurse came in I said, "Thanks, but when is dr coming back to hear my second question?" Whether she was embarrassed or not I'm not sure, but told me to ask her the question because we wouldn't see him further today. Although we go back for labs, we do not see an actual dr or nurse again for 6 months.

We stayed in town and got the prescription filled and went by the PO with a thank-you note dd was sending.

I took a pretty substantial nap while the dcleaning lady finished up the downstairs. Need to get s2s (I'm still in pajamas) to head to meeting at 3 p.m.

Sent an email to rabbi asking him to add a name to our kaddish list for this week - a temple president at the biennial convention had a heart attack on Friday afternoon and passed away.

Hello, villagers ~
I've been kind of spinning wheels here this morning, too. Woke up way too early and did desk and kitchen work for a few hours, but it doesn't look like I did anything. :P Finally gave up and took a nap.

Now I have cooked and eaten lunch and am ready to, as Kathryn called it, reboot the day.

First thing up is shopping. Not my favorite thing, so I'm splitting it in half between today and tomorrow. The places I need to go are in almost opposite directions, and with holiday traffic I don't think I could do it all in 1 day anyway.

This afternoon I'll pick up DMom's gift, DH's gift, McD's gift card, and hopefully find the last of the groceries we'll need until after Christmas. Also need to stop by the post office.

Hmm, this has set here for over 15 minutes while I kept thinking of 1 more quick thing I needed to do before I could leave. Must force myself into shoes and coat and get out the door!

editing to add -- for Harriet's DDad's doctor.

(((Harriet)))

I got the chits sorted and the mail opened and sorted. Put some cards up on the ribbon to display (I hang ribbon in the cut-out parts of the wall between the dining room and front hall and staple cards to the ribbon to display them.)

Dfs called for a chat. He calls about every 2 - 3 months. I had sent a card to he was calling to say thanks and to wish us a Merry Christmas. Turns out he's moving from a bachelor apt. to a 2 bedroom in March and getting roommate. Turns out the roommate will be ds! Turns out my son has news for me and my foster-son just spilled the beans by accident (he thought I knew.) Not sure this is a good plan. There have been problems at the house with unreliable rent payments by two of the 4 boys in the hosue and tensions between Surfer Dude and ds so I guess he's decided to move to solve the issues. That's fine, except the timing doesn't work because dfs will be moving out in May of 2013 (he's getting married) and ds will then have to carry a two-bedroom rent by himself until Jan 2014 or move back home because he can't move to a new place and sign a 1-year lease. I'm not sure ds has thought this all through.

He's welcome to move back home (it will save him money on rent and his stuff has to move here anyway while he's away) so that's not an issue. The snow tires I'm getting him are an issue though. Ds has a garage now but is moving to an apartment building so there's no place to store snow tires and I don't particularly want them back here in my garage because I like my garage as it is now (where the tires should go is where I'm keeping my paper recycle bins.)

Checking in.

Thanks Kathryn for the UPS suggestion but managed to get it to the mailbox before mailman stopped here.

Harriet, yes I would think of changing doctors to one that is willing to share some time with you.

Dishes are washing.

More dailies to come.

I'm having more water making a point to get enough water in take as I was out of sorts from not enough this past weekend. On Sun. that was most of my problem I think.
