Happy Anniversary Lilac & DH

I feel blessed to be a part of this diverse group who broaden my knowledge and help me hear other views. One thing is certain, I'm happy to have a circle who can have a respectful dialogue about issues on which we don't agree.

I can't decide whether to force myself to eat today. I have absolutely no desire to eat so I think I will just be patient and listen to my body.

I filled the instant pot with Chicken this morning so I will have some good chicken broth available. The chicken meat will be shredded and frozen in meal size portions.

DMom came and got DS8 to go on an adventure with her. They are driving an hour away to visit DNephew home under construction. DS8 was torn whether to go with DMom or stay with his puppy. LOL I told him the dog will be fine without him for a few hours.

Embarrassing truth.....DMIL called this morning and asked if I had received tax info paper from the health insurance company. I stuttered a bit then blurted out the truth. I don't know. I haven't looked at or opened my mail in a couple of weeks. DH brings the mail in from mailbox and puts it in a pile. And there it stays until I take the time to deal with it. 90% of it is trash.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes.

LadyM, after I have been sick and haven't eaten, I always start back with buttered toast and canned peaches. This is what my late dmil did and I picked it up from her. It always makes me think of her as I am eating again.

LadyM...I' m right there with you when it comes to food. I have come down with a terrible cold at the tail end of the respitory infection. Walking through casinos didn't help any last weekend and I relapsed.

Finished my meds yesterday and started with a water facet for a nose yesterday. Ended up
shoving twisted Kleenex up my nostrils to deal with the unslaught of water.

Hardly slept a wink last night... listened to my audio novel, plus several Johnny Dollar radio tales along with a few of my self hypnotist programs for sleep and nothing worked.

Gave up at four and got my kindle out and read for hours. Now I'm curled up in bed and it just occurred to my my face feels like a hot stove. Pulled my thermometer out and yup I'm 101.5 I just passed week three. If I'm not better it's back to urgent care. Can't let this crud get down in my chest... I have too much to do.

Thankfully I was able to get the laundry done yesterday and We'd or Thur, I can't remember which... Sweetie went with me on a grocery run.

I pulled out home made chicken soup that I had in the freezer ... that will do for dinner. A
Friend of Sweeties is in town... don't think they've seen each other for 17+ years... and they are meeting for a late lunch. Bet he won't make it home till dark :D

That's ok with me... I'll be right here in the same place where he left me... I hate fever headaches btw. Bummer

Happy to see you're back Dee :D No subbing for me tomorrow either ....

When I'm stressed I overeat. Been overeating like crazy for the past 36 hours.

Toggl's app won't work on my phone. Will try on my tablet but that might not work either. Read a comment on the discussion thread about a lawyer using paper and pen and just recently moving to a file with CSV (comma separated values.) Those can be pulled into a spreadsheet and graphed. Since I have a time on my computer and my phone and my tablet and my watch, etc, etc, this might be the simplest and most elegant solution to a problem that I may not even have.

I attended two services this morning which impressed my minister when he realized I don't have a service this afternoon so didn't have to even be there. We had lunch and then a Costco run. I have to decide where Costco fits in my boycott. Walmart, McD's are out for sure. But Costco is US run so in theory should be boycotted as well. That will make my greek yogurt very expensive.

My computer crashed when I brought it up from a suspend when I got home so I'm still searching for a recipe for dinner tonight. It will be pork chops with maple glaze. Think I finally found something while using my tablet (and waiting for my computer to recover.)

Dd posted a darling video of her playing peek-a-boo with dgs so we enjoyed that.

My dishes are all done for the first time in probably close to 2 weeks.

The island is almost clear.

I think it helps that dh and his friend have been very busy working on the window stuff and I am not getting a nap today.

((((RR))))) I hope this chesty cough stuff leaves you soon. A DFriend had it and ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. I realized at the beginning of last week that I could breathe normally. FINALLY.

Cathy - YGG!!

DS8 is back home and playing with neighborhood friends. It is a beautiful day for playing outside.

I didn't have my shield up so DMom got to me with a couple of remarks. Why haven't you painted that? When are you going to get to it? That garden needs some attention! Your vehicles could use a good washing. Yes, Ma'am. Yes, Ma'am. Yes, Ma'am. Yes, Ma'am.

Lilac -I didn't have peaches on hand, but I used your idea and ate a piece of toast and an apple. My stomach is rolling but seems to be handling it.

Finished dinner. Dh is doing the last of the washing up (I had done the bulk of it before dinner.)

It was a success although the pork chops were nothing special. I did two pork chops, carrots and potatoes, and onion and garlic, in the cast iron pan in the oven. Everything was glazed with maple syrup but the meat needed to be marinated more. The recipe was a variation on one by Pillsbury where biscuits (also drizzled with maple syrup) are cooked in the skillet too but I had a biscuit for lunch so did yorkshire puddings in their muffin tin instead.

Despite all the sweetness, dh is having ice cream for a dessert.

Now to write my MP proposing the Oscars be invited to be in Canada so that everyone can attend.

<done>

While I was at it, I suggested the abandoned by the US refugees with visas be offered spots in Canada immediately. Obviously, they've been thoroughly vetted so it is a chance for us to act out our Prime Minister's words that Canada Welcomes them. And that Canada offer refuge to those green card holders trapped outside of the US. That will at least bring them closer to their homes and back into the same time-zone as where they live. (Just imagine going to airport, parking your car, and going on a short trip and then find out you cannot return to your home and job and more importantly will have to pay for 90 days of parking at the airport.)

My body is weak but my mind is raring to go. I am using this time to research & learn a couple things that I have seen but didn't have time to follow up on. A couple weeks ago I joined an FB group for doing bullet journal using OneNote. I have picked up several tips on using OneNote with other software. I've seen the microsoft snipping tool for years but never found a reason to use it. Now I learned several reasons! I've been doing things the hard way.

This afternoon I have worked in multiple small segments of time PUPA around the house. I love the guys that live in this house, but things quickly stack up. I don't think they even see it.

Once I got the living room picked up I opened the carton containing our Christmas gift. DH took over and started assembling it. I'm breathing a sigh of relief because I wasn't 100% sure it would fit in the spot I had selected for it. It looks like it will be okay. We won't know for absolutely sure until we get it hooked up and working. That's a project for another day.

Honestly, the stuff going on south of me is starting to scare the you know what out of me. I try so hard to not talk about it, but it is beginning to take over everyday conversations with real life friends. Almost 100% sure it will be a hot topic tomorrow at stitching. It is already overtaking my Thursday and Friday groups.
