Monday Memories of Fall Foliage

Postby LadyMaverick » Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:15 am

I'm curious - Where is the favorite place(s) that you have viewed Fall Foliage? If you have a date of viewing the fall foliage, then that would give you bonus points! LOL

My favorite fall foliage was in the mountains of NW Arkansas. No bonus points for me because I don't remember when it was. I have viewed it several times and always think it is the best ever.

DGS21 and I are going on a 3 hour guided hike next Saturday to view the Fall Foliage. I'm looking forward to the hike in the wilderness area of the refuge, but am not expecting much fall foliage. The majority of our native trees are not very festive. They just turn brown and drop their leaves.

This is a typical Monday for me.

My card file is out on the table - it says 8:23 but I see it as 9:23 so I feel like I am behind.
cards pulled and separated by dailies and weeklies and fun

call day:
-call washing machine repair  8-) can't get a repair person until November 14 but it is still under warranty
-call furnace person - made appointment for check up and they will call dh :D - not until November 27 or 28
-look at cards for who I have to call or write today.
-df is moving tomorrow so I want to get to her new house and drop off balloons or a welcome home sign and a card
-so frustrated with the government health care - its a pain - as I don't have company insurance, I have my own insurance. When O bama care came through the insurance company threw us off our great insurance because they said we can get insurance through the healthcare . gov .. .each year it changes and each year more and more of our doctors leave the programs or some of the specialist dh needs are in one plan and dd youngers specialists are in another plan. (I will work on this later)

got a letter from old d friend (so nice to hear from her)

still sitting on franny but doing paper work I hadn't planned on
I have light classical music playing
right now: I am going to do the magic trick - "pick a card, pick any card" just for fun.

I put my cards upside down... drumroll please ..... 27 FLING WON

Home from first errands of the day. Off again by 12.15pm

Frustrated because my computer launched a memory test so I have no access to it. It started around 8:45, and we are 30% done.

I sat down to give my foot a break so it will stop hurting. The rest of me gets a break too. :)

This morning has progressed smoothly. I've completed 4 each 15-minute focus sessions. I have to time each focus to a lesson assigned to DS9 that he will take longer than 15 minutes to complete on his own. That sentence makes no sense....

Good morning all! I had a mostly successful weekend, but did too much online jigsaw Sunday. My favorite place for fall foliage viewing: the roof of the house I grew up in, in Mobile, AL. First you get the thrill of climbing on the roof, then the view. My parents eventually gave up on keeping me off the roof and assigned me gutter cleaning duties, which I loved, because it was on the roof! Halloween is put away and MBR looks lovely. Many LOLs were done and PUT AWAY!!!! I finished the sweater I have been working on and and wore it to church and to payroll. I worked on the rainbow unicorn and have only eyes left to finish and attach. Sunday I was at a loss of what to have for lunch and ended up cooking on the grill - steak for DD15 and pork chop for me, with more pork chops for workday lunches. I am trying to clear out my freezer. That grill is probably the best $2.50 I ever spent. I have done dance practice, but still don't know it very well.

Geezer Kitty ran out of antibiotic a day early. I have a call into the vet. She won't eat her canned food (with arthritis meds) any more and is not eating much dry. I think she only eats when I put a bowl in front of her. She stumbles occasionally. She is still drinking well, and presumably getting to the catbox as there have been no accidents. I think it is time to put an end to this, but DD has finals this week. I will talk to the vet and see what can/should be done.

DD missed youth group again in favor of homework/studying. My traveling companion friend is having cataract surgery this week. I put a note in my calendar to call her Saturday.

When I got to work, I found the yarn fairy had paid a visit. I don't know who to thank and none of my coworkers on the hall knew either. Tonight is dance class. The big WTF is animal org minutes and notes. I also have several web based chores (bill schedule, meds order, Christmas order, sweater picture to Ravelry). I have been putting these off, because getting on the web leads to goofing off on jigsaw puzzles. There are ten items on my list, most short. I may run out of time though.

Gotta get back to contract numbers.

Hi!

Fall foliage. My favourite place since October 1995 has always been the Niagara area. Ex and I would always come down for at least one night between Canadian Thanksgiving and Hallowe'en to see the leaves. This was an annual event until October 2013. I moved down here in August of 2014, so I can just look a bit south of us to the "Beamsville Bench" to see trees on the side of the Niagara escarpment.

This morning I finished all the dishes finally!! Then I went to knitting. I came home and dh was here. He said he had a doctor's appointment this morning for his Diabetes wellness checkup. But... he said we will talk about how his appointment went "later" and then he left to go back to work.

Supper tonight will be steak and potatoes and dh will have asparagus.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Paper never stops.
