sad that messy friend didn't show - her habits make it hard to follow through and she hurts herself - she knows and I am sure it's part of her has social anxiety even if she seems an extravert. She just hurts herself and then people don't trust her to follow through - I think she doesn't know that it is better to say no right away instead of putting it off and then it's too late. Very sad that she can't get ready ahead of time and force herself to face her fears.

D Cathy - I am so glad you had a very good time. Also wow look at your house - nice and spiffy.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Back from knitting group it was good. Found a boo boo had to take several inches out no worries. Went go the store got a couple things I forgot, one was liquid laundry soap, dropped it when I got home broke the lid a bit of a clean up on mess behind the jeep put leaves on bc it was slick. Sigh.. Good news I used the lid from the other jug.

Sipping tea now mom's bday was in Jan. So will consider a tea near that date.

Checking in from overwhelmedland. Each day brings a lot checked off, but still so much to do.

Dd has won a scholarship that should cover the upcoming semester, and is very pleased. I was amused to learn that after award date (today), it is completely assured except for one thing - if a recipient should neglect to send a thank-you note, the scholarship is taken away. (smile - someone expecting common courtesy, and in this day and age! What a concept.)

I have had to say no to caroling for the church, even though this is at homes of several of my dear friends who are home-bound. I am too overwhelmed and that evening I'll be sitting at home doing a church report and finishing up Angel Tree booklets. If I hadn't felt obligated to help lead the hymn sing and rush Sunday to bring food for covered dish (none of these were on our calendar), maybe I could find time now for this. So many people just don't understand there are limits. They keep coming up with late-decision programs and events, with extra guilt to go around for those who can't change their plans. We had a printed calendar for this month that was nearly bare. Literally, 3 events on that calendar, the same weekly event for 3 weeks. That was it. Well, people planned accordingly - big shock.

Realized I haven't even been here all day. Wanted to come and wish Twins a Happy Hanukkah if I didn't do anything else.

Had women's group at church this morning and then we were going to go to see dbil/dsisil. One of our good friends from church asked to come to their house for lunch. Dh was actually going over there to check out their radial arm saw. So we were late going to dbil/dsisil's. Got there around 1pm and the garage was open, radio going. Went in and there were cookies on trays on the stove and cookie mix still in the bowl, and dsisil's purse was on the table, a drawer in the kitchen open. I knew something was amiss (oh, their car was gone too) and we finally decided to leave. Saw her dsis on the way out and she said the ambulance had taken dsisil this morning. Dh's db called just as we were pulling into our driveway. Dsisil had a severe pain in her head and passed out. She had come to before the ambulance came and gave dbil fits about going to the hospital. But they released her this afternoon and said 'there's nothing new'. Have a feeling this will keep happening. She's lost about 40#. She is 3 1/2 months older than me.

I'm at the computer waiting for tonight's church council meeting to begin -7:30. Guess I should get my computer ready for same. Have a good evening everyone.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Happy Hanukkah!

Have ordered copies of a photo of the grandchildren to enclose in cards to family, but am not very happy.

A few years ago I was quickly making bordered prints I liked very much on the snap fish site. It was so easy I was bordering prints that didn't even need it because it was fun! Now the site has been redone and I struggled to make something I don't like half as much. There was a tutorial video, but it began when you were halfway through, never explaining how to get to the pages it was showing. Finally finding it on my own, the icon for "border" simply wasn't there, although you could see it in the tutorial. I think it is to their financial advantage to make it hard to border an ordinary print, so that you will choose more expensive projects.

I was just grateful to get anything to work by the end. I know that HRH could have done better in a photo program, but he is a perfectionist too, and we don't need the two of us trying to come up with a custom idea at this late date.

Have hidden dd19's presents. Time to put away the last decor boxes and neaten up for card and wrapping doin's.

Watching election returns here...
— Went to nursing home singing w ds and dh...
— Mall (2 stores) and 1 extra store, still couldn’t find shirt I wanted for dbil — last Christmas gift I have to purchase. No luck. (Looking for shirt w score from our rivalry game.)
— ordered shirt online * hope it arrives in time!

Heading to bed soon although I'd like to stay up for election results. After all, Alabama had the grace to shut their polls at a decent hour for those of us on the east coast!

We saw Victoria and Abdul today and highly recommend the movie. Enjoyed our time out with W & R. R sure is quiet though.

The bus ride home was long but steady. The highway was a mess but our bus just popped on and off once so it wasn't bad at all. I even had a seat and was between two nice women (one of whom was sleeping against me, which might creep you out but I found it a compliment since she felt save enough to fall asleep.)

I need to fold the last load of laundry and then I'll do some back exercises. My back is killing me for some reason.

Thank you for Hanukkah wishes! I’ve had a good day. Dh and dd went to the community dinner, ds and I stayed home and had pizza. Lit candles.

I’m also watching AL election returns.
