I was also sidetracked because of surprise visitors. It's really a bummer to me, unless just a drop-in. I think a phone call, a plan, an understanding that it's a good time - that is a courtesy that helps so much. Definitely should be so, if you are going to be accompanied by children, since they are going to require more from their hosts than adults would.

One thing that should be a given is that in a household in which people can't/don't eat the super-convenient foods, cooking needs to have time to happen. So even though the visit may not be AT mealtime, it still may be during a time cooking needed to be done, or the household's plans are put on hold. Also, if seated on someone else's couch during a surprise visit, why would your entertainment become your own phone? Then you remain the focal point for your hosts, but now they watch you NOT interacting.

I almost didn't make it here to wish DHarriet's DD a very happy 20th. Oh how did THAT happen. She was just 7 years old, sitting across the table & drawing caricatures of us. Seems like only a couple of years ago. Tell her we think fondly of her even still. (I still have those drawings btw!)

I hope you all had a good day! I went lots of places. Took mom for her CT - her fractures are still there on her C2 vertebrae. So now we have to see the specialist to see if she can have surgery of any kind. She also is getting a bit of scoliosis. She has another test to do that we will discuss tomorrow. Nice thing is that she is going to let me talk to her dr. from now on so he can explain things to me rather than her. I already have her portal while she is town.

signed dd younger up for a beginning sewing class that she wanted. also picked up the kits for the appliqué class

lots of fun.

Thanks Lucyl. I appreciated what you said about progress. And I can relate to being grateful for being able to do this, ladt year I could not bc of leg injury.

I sorted to sm cans of purged papers. Glad for that progress.

We had a branch fall out of the tree but did not damage the house or cars or utility lines. Glad for safety.
