I had heard, but forgotten, the Scottish history of the word, Harriet. Thanks for the reminder.

I really must color my hair today. I donwanna....
I feel very lazy right now — did not sleep well.

(((Hugs))) and prayers for Mr Dee and Dee today. (I thought just as I posted last night that it was your dggd with the broken leg. Thanks for clarifying.)

It’s very rainy here today, and expected to be all week. We are hoping to take dgrands and ddil to the fair tonight. Ds will be headed out of town for the week.

Hope you all have a good day!

does anyone elses husband struggle when you declutter your own stuff. (maybe it's my energy) He seems to grumble a bit (in spirit ;) )
He has a hard time when I let go of things as I think he sees money spent on it or as a gift from someone.

I got rid of a few things that I have had since we were first married. It's hard for him.
I am thinking of getting rid of some of my old pots from our wedding shower as I use the same pots over and over again - the ones I bought my self years ago.

today is a heavy cleaning day for me but I am hitting the I don't wanna's - so I think I will do one more hour of decluttering and no more.
laundry room weeklies are done - home blessing of that room - I haven't done that in a long time.

Dh went to DD's. I'm home because I am sick with a cold and tired and am still recovering from the concussion although you would not really know it to look at me.

Ds is on his way over to do laundry now that my first load is done. He and I will be go look at a house later in the afternoon.

I still have to put fresh sheets on our bed but I might wait longer. Like, after a nap.

I also need to make more soup.

Hi!

Nice to see Kathryn posting. I looked at a map on Friday and I knew the K in C family would be in the danger zone. There is currently (or there was this morning) a notice that any driving in and around the capital would be difficult because there were so many traffic lights not working.

I don't even know where to start with everything that has been going on since Thursday. I'll post about it later tonight. I have some errands to run before the day gets any further away from me.

I'm sorry I'm so late checking in here. After feeling so ill yesterday I had trouble sleeping. I don't know whether it was physical or my mind racing about some genealogy things I'm writing about. I got up at 11:30 and ate some cheese and crackers. At some point, I took my mouth guard out and lost it, so I woke up with a headache when Muffin got me up at 7:30. So I got up with her so she could potty, found the mouth guard and went back to sleep until 9:30 when dfriend M messaged me about walking with the dog. But... before we could get out, the rain started, and I don't think it's stopped since. It was dreary when I got up at 7:30 so it was a good morning to sleep in, I guess.

At 10:08 my therapist send me a message that we had an appt at 10 so I got there in about 10 min and had a session with her. That was good for me. And I got back home and have been vegging out ever since. My tummy is still off, probably from the meds, but I'm reducing the dose now and I haven't had any pain since Sat a.m.

Lucylee, your friend's description is right on, also to Lynlee, my deepest sympathies. I find that chewing on the side that is unaffected helps, but sometimes any kind of head movement hurts like H---. And it seems to hit without warning too.

I do need to get some things done today. Dh is bowling tonight so I have extra time, and don't have to cook supper.

Going to start really small. I really don't feel well.
-empty the dishwasher
-call the repair place about dishwasher door, surely they have the part by now?
-clear and wipe the back kitchen counter and breakfast bar
-call about meds for dMuffin (I will need to pick them up today, but it's okay because I also need to take dh's shirts to cleaners)
-straighten great room

And again. I'm warm enough now that I took off my sweatshirt.

-clear the kitchen table
-finish cleaning and wiping down the kitchen
-make the bed
-brush and floss (have been afraid to because of chance of pain)
-pay parking ticket online

Before I forget, LucyLee -yes, It WAS our dggd4 with the broken leg. They actually ended up taking her in the ambulance to Children's in Buffalo last night -she was screaming in such pain. She did the same at Strong the night it happened and they put slits in the sides of her full leg cast because they were afraid her leg was swelling too much. Guess last night they finally gave her pain meds and a prescription. Pretty sure they'll end up putting on a new cast.

Believe it or not (I don't) we're home again -5 hours after we left this morning. For a time doing his surgery at all was in jeopardy. The anesthesiologist wasn't comfortable with the fact that dh still needs to have stents put in (in 2 weeks). He finally sought out the surgeon and was appeased when surgeon told him he'd talked with dh's cardiologist. They did remove the gall bladder. But the adhesions???? Dr. said he couldn't find that scar tissue was at all the cause of his bowel obstruction back in May. Did find 2 hernias while he was in there but left them alone for now. Doesn't surprise me at all with all the work dh does and the kinds he does! He's snoozing now and I'm sure he will a lot this afternoon. This is the first time he's ever come home on the day of any surgery!

Just managed to get the dishes done while dh slept. Going out for a walk after dh wakes back up. Don't want him to awake to an empty house.
