Ta Da Tuesday (by Twins)

Postby DeeClutter » Tue Oct 23, 2018 9:54 am

I'm taking an 'administrator privilege' and reposting this morning's posts that ended up in "Across the Café Table". Better to ask forgiveness than permission, Twins. Am I forgiven?

Let's celebrate our Ta Dahs today. Most of us have a lot on our to do list, but we'll practice positive thinking and focus on what's accomplished: our Ta Dahs!

By the way, the overly optimistic thinking, to mix metaphors, might be called "drinking the Kool aid." To believe beyond what makes sense...

I am going to get to the downtown library today and need to work on the assignment due on Thursday. I had full intentions of working on it yesterday and was sidetracked, first by dd (which was ok) and then by a DNA match where I tried to figure out the connection, and went "down the rabbit hole." At that point I didn't want to change gears and work on what I should have been doing all along...

DD and I had talked about lunch out today, I hope I can beg off since we spent so much time together yesterday. Dh is having several fillings done today at 4 p.m. and requested a specific soup. Unfortunately, it takes awhile so I will leave the library maybe 3:30ish to get to the grocery and get home to get the soup going. It's fairly labor intensive but I'll live.

Right now:
-breakfast/meds
-make the bed
-walk the dog
-s2s
-do I need to start laundry?

I already have garbage out and have made a deposit into my checking account. I love being able to do that via the phone app.

Twins - Thanks for the great theme and start.

Ta Dah -
** Up at 5:30 fully rested and ready to get started on the day
** Quiet time
** Kitchen counters cleared and wiped with germ-killing liquid
** Laundry put away and another load in progress. This load will catch us back up to empty laundry basket status.
** Homeschool lessons planned and prep'd
** Breakfast prep'd, served & cleaned up
** Working on preparing an online food order from WM. It is free shipping if ordering over $35 so I like to have pantry staples delivered to my door. I resisted trying WM Great Value brand for years, but now that I have tried it I can't find a reason to not use it.
Time is precious. Waste it wisely.

Just realized why I hadn't found any PWYC for today......it's over in "Across The Café Table". Can we switch it to the PWYC thread, Twins? If so, I'll cut and paste it to over there...…….. Think I'll just "re-post" it over there -maybe others are as 'foggy brained' as me this morning.

Dee - Thank you for taking good care of our village!

Ta Dah -
** Last load of laundry put away.
** Homeschool lessons done =
* Praying together
* Character trait study (Boldness/Courage vs Fearfulness)
* Speech practice (oh boy......this takes a lot of attention to details and much repetition)
* Math curriculum #1 (Math Lessons for a Living Education) started then we pushed the "pause button" on doing lessons so DS10 can go with DH to unload the donations from the drop off box and carry them into the building for the clothes closet volunteers.

RE: DDog decision yesterday. After doing tests to rule out some things, the vet diagnosed him with glaucoma and in pain. The long-term outcome was total blindness in both eyes. The vet gave us several options for treatment including seeing a specialist. But none of the options are a cure and all of them involve pain management. Caring for an 80 lb blind dog in pain that will not allow a leash or come inside a building is a bigger challenge than we felt like we could handle.

Yikes, so sorry, Dee and PWYC-ers! Thank you Dee for fixing it up. Can you either delete or close the other thread?

So sorry LadyM. Was this Buddy?

Why oh why can't I get an earlier start? OTOH, if I get to the library soon, I'll be worn out at 3:30 ish.

It's been deleted, Twins. Made for an interesting start to our day -and thank you for getting us started! Helped wake me up

Leaving shortly to go spend a couple of hours with dsisil (db's wife). They moved about 30 miles away from here in June (from Homosassa Springs, FL). With everything going on with dh I haven't made it down there to see them. Was going to go a few weeks ago and DB was sick. Unfortunately dh is busy today and can't go. Will seem strange not to be able to go see them when we're in FL however. Though last year I was sick for about 9 weeks and we never did make it up there. They were about an hour and a half from where we were in Lakeland.

Ta Dah -
** Worked in the container garden. Disassembled the pumpkin container and put the vines into the trash. I am declaring this container experiment a success because I did raise 2 good size pumpkins. I made a lot of mistakes but hopefully I can learn from them and have a better set up to grow plants with long vines.
** Gave some of the green plants (airplane & fern type plants) their winter "haircut". I will use a hand cart to move those large planters inside for the winter. I have had success with these plants living through the winter even though they are not in a heated area. In the spring I dump the planters and refresh the dirt. The roots will grow again. These plants have survived several years doing this method. I am going to try several different types of ivy with this method. I don't think it will work but they will die if I leave the containers where they are so nothing ventured...nothing gained.
** Harvested 16 peppers and over 50 tomatoes. I got tired of picking tomatoes so I quit.

The DDog name was Yotee. He was DS10 primary dog. We got Yotee when he was a couple months old. DS10 faithful took care of him and played with him daily without any prompting. I asked the vet what caused glaucoma and if it was contagious to the other dogs. She thought it was genetic in Yotee's case and it isn't contagious.
