Thankful Thursday

Postby Kathryn-in-Canada » Thu Nov 22, 2018 8:21 am

We are thankful for the SHE village every day, but today it is a place to take refuge or make oneself accountable.

Those of us having a normal Thursday will be cheering you on.

I'm up having my tea and chocolate.

Dh says he slept really well with the weighted blanket last night. So night one was a success. He said he had a hard time getting out of bed but once he did, he felt clear headed. I'm hoping it will make my sleeping with him easier when I return to our bed since the goal is to tame the restless legs.

I slept 'OK'. Was in bed 8 hours and woke up in the middle of that, took a Tylenol and went back to sleep.

I'm not clear headed though and I'm tired. I think that's because my hip and leg are sore so I'm settling in for another day of soreness.

Tried to order Christmas dinner. Got to the tab to enter my credit card expiry date and the system failed. Tried to enter the order again and their website is completely down.

I basically can only do one thing a day. This was my one thing and I can't even do that.

I'm going back to bed, I'm too sore to stay up.

Hi!

I had a very irregular start to my day. Dh and I went to a Black Friday sale. We even lined up out in the frigid temperatures at the Canadian Tire to get my Christmas gift from dh. He wanted to get me an appliance, even though he started his sentence to me with "I know it's wrong to get a woman an appliance for a gift but..." So I now have a Roomba. It was close to half price. I haven't decided if I want to wait for Christmas to open it, or if I will open the empty box and start using it now. (Dh said I had the option and it was up to me.)

The "traditional" thing I did was listen to Alice's Restaurant. I even shared it on FB.

Garbage and recycling are out.

We are having spaghetti and meat sauce for supper. A much easier meal than a lot of you might be making or participating in.

The macy's parade starts at 9 am here - I put it on in the background.
I can't have a fireplace today so I put one on my computer. no physical warm, lol of course, but comforting sound and visual just the same.

oven is on and I was proud of myself to remember to defrost what I needed today.
I have 2 things to bring
dd younger made gluten free cookies and regular choc chip cookies

I flip flopped the laundry
haven't taken the clean laundry upstairs to put away bc dh/dd younger are sleeping.

I need to do my morning routine for peace.
I have everything I need to give others in my purse.. I need to remember it lol.

Happy Thanksgiving !

I have the jello done left out the fruit to serve on the side. I finished the deviled eggs.
Turkey fit in the pan.
I wish I had kept the saving dishes and platters now.

yay d Nancy! Happy Thanksgiving!
it's okay - your regular dishes will be perfect! now you don't have to make space for those serving platters
we use a cookie sheet (with small sides) for serving things - with foil on top.
I got rid of my large serving platters so this works fine. My sis in law does the same thing. it's rare we need large platters. (we go to the dollar store before a gathering to get really large platters - cheap that we can recycle)

I am breaking tradition and turned off the macy's parade and put Christmas music on.
I still have the "fake" fireplace on the computer ;) 8-)

veggie casserole is in the oven. now to shred carrots, cut red onion, cook bacon (first)
