Ack! I am letting the day slip away from me! Earlier I never got to that list - I looked at the assignment for the institute next week and went down the rabbit hole and then was late - not much - to my hair appt. After hair appt I went by the temple to drop something off and then came home.

I got up about an hour earlier today - so I told myself I'd nap 45 minutes and napped but kept hitting the snooze alarm. I was so warm and cozy and sleepy!

So here I am, and no motivation now.

Dneighbor told me that there were two does in my yard this a.m. when I was walking the dog.

OK, back to work, maybe....

-take a load of stuff from front steps upstairs and put away
-find bulletin board for office and put up with command strips
-declutter 15 min in bonus room

Don't think I'm going to make my #3 today. Back is too out of whack. I will however, work on Annual reports for the next hour so I'll at least have that done.

Preordered dinner and allowed 35 minutes to get there. Google maps said it would take 20 minutes. We are stuck on the highway. Google still says we might make it but there are 2x4s blocking 2/3 of the lanes and we are stopped. I've lost faith in Google maps.

Until this happened, everything was going great.

Even the two traffic reports said everything was flowing well.

OK moving now. Nothing like the police physically moving the boards one by one. Seems like a waste of their talent.

Well, I only needed to give the annual reports 40 minutes tonight. Still have to go over two of my more complicated reports in the morning. Then to wait for all the financial reports, which in turn wait on banks. Pastor wrote this morning that she would copy and put the reports together if I can get them to her. I'd love to get them done early and printed out and be able to send them priority mail for her to copy. Always have trouble when I go to put them all in one document.

Homeschool day #103 was a good one. A couple of rocky places but overall very smooth.

I have enjoyed the break from DS10 extra school type activities over the holidays. Most of them start back up this week. They add 9 hours to my schedule this week. Four of the hours are monthly activities so won't happen again until next month. I am very aware of these extra activities as I meet with the lady from the coop. I am going to be selective on what else I can add.....if anything.

I take DMom to two doctor appointments this week. My schedule almost always has one or two doctors appointments for DMom. I keep thinking they will decrease but in reality, they just keep increasing. This week I'm taking DMom to an eye specialist to get her 2 splinter hemorrhages checked in the left eye. DMom uses meds for this twice a day and they monitor the status of the hemorrhages. On Friday DMom has an appointment to get her knee brace adjusted. They wanted her to get used to wearing the brace for a couple weeks then they will adjust the brace to line her knee up straighter. It is expected to be a slow process so I see more of these appointments in our future.

........this sat here for 6 hours. I just got home and found it patiently waiting for me to hit submit. :)

Meeting with the Homeschool Coop lady went okay. I guess we passed the initial interview because she gave us paperwork to fill out. They have a lot of non-negotiable rules. Dress code. Religion. Restricted Curriculum choices. They require you to stay with the child during all classes which means each adult that will be attending has to have a background check. I don't have any conflict with any of the rules but but but but....my free spirit is feeling bit squashed. Even if the rules make total sense....being handed four pages of rules that must be followed felt overwhelming. On the other hand.....this group has several lawyers, DA, and state politicians so I suspect having rules so well defined seem normal to them I need to ponder if this is the right place for DS10. The day and time of the COOP classes are almost perfect for our schedule.... Monday's 10-2pm. The price is reasonable. Pondering whether to commit to it or pass.......

Sam's trip was bigger than I expected. Found several pairs of winter pants for DS10 that he needs but it was a no-brainer decision since they were marked-down 80%. Also stocked up on underwear and socks for DS10 and DH.

We have unloaded everything and most of it is put away in the general room it belongs. But it isn't organized.

Twins, your bulletin board remark reminded me that I hadn't gotten a 2019 wall calendar that I usually put up in the office. I do tend to use that one a lot as I'm doing computer work. We didn't get one this year. Blue Book usually sent us out one in a tube and I'd cut off the ad at the bottom and put it on the wall. It was big enough to see from every spot in the office. Now I will have to look around for one.

I didn't make a list, but I'm sure I did way over 5 things and by 5:00 too.

Last LOL done. Every bit of my laundry marathon the past couple days is folded and put away.
Checks to the mail. 1 Bank statement reconciled and notes made to change 1 spreadsheet. No outstanding checks to record for 2018, so that makes things simpler.

I took care of all the Christmas cards we got. Made gift tags out of some of them; put the picture ones in the box where I keep them; tucked away the ones we keep.

Went over the paperwork for 2018; 4 people not responding have me stuck as to finishing.

Took down 2018 calendar on our bulletin board right outside the kitchen and put up the 2019 one. I'm glad I got that one all filled in early for this year.

I called an eye doctor I had picked and as I feared he does not do cataracts but I got the name of the one he recommends. I had looked him up previously and I did that again and looked around for reports on him. Nothing bad shows up. I asked at my small group meeting last night who some of them used. Last guy used someone who shows up a lot on TV ads... but when we use that guy we have to go to an hour-away city for service. Since I'm relying on DH to be around for this, not a good choice. Now to gather my courage.....

We cleaned out the refrigerator aka dinner and it was tasty. Now all the leftovers are gone so I guess I'll be starting all over again tomorrow.

Thinking about all our fur babies in the village. Aw....

LadyM, are you really going to NYC? What kind of classes does the coop teach?

I am 99% sure I'm going to NYC. I am excited about it because what I'll be doing there and because of the group I will be with. I only know the basics about the trip and will be learning the details as time gets closer.

This homeschool Coop has different classes each semester. The spring semester starting next month has the following class for DS10 age....
** Drama
** Chess and Checkers club
** Zoology
** Spelling and Latin games
** How to play the recorder
** American the Beautiful
** PE in the gym
** Social Studies
** Kids Choir
** Anatomy
** The Joy of Painting
** Logic and Critical thinking
** Boys Basketball
** Grammar Games
** Classical American History & Art
** PE Games
** Science Projects & Scouting Skills
** Reading Skills
** Outdoor/Indoor Games

These Coop classes aren't a substitute for the basics (Math, English, reading, etc) but they are to enhance the curriculum that is being taught at home. There seems to be plenty of classes to choose from. He can sign up to take 1, 2 or 3 of these classes each semester. Next semester they will have different classes to choose from.

This has not been a successful day in terms of getting the additional things done. I did do the big things - dog to vet and hair cut/color. I could never get restarted this afternoon - the command strips for the bulletin board wouldn't stick to the wall and I guess I need to clean the wall better and get more command strips.

The assignment for the class next week is fun, but I'm not finding the connections between some of the people. I don't want to spend the week down that particular rabbit hole.

I'm doing some planning for tomorrow, when I have a dermatologist appt.
