The revolving restaurant motion is dependent on your orientation. You could be going forwards , backwards, or sideways depending on how you are standing/sitting while chatting with people. With travel you are only moving forward. As well, at dinner I was on the inside seat, going backwards but as I was talking to people at the end of the table by the window, the windows are going by, which is makes my brain go, "what the heck?"
