snow is now covering my flowers  :o ;)
I still can't believe it is snowing.

I didn't want to but I did kind of a half okay job on windows in dd youngest room. I don't have the energy to do the windows in our bedroom. (there are 3 there).
I did vacuum in there as well.

spoke to dd younger for an hour and dd older joined me with her after she came home from the gym. It was nice having dh, dd's and I talking on the phone.

I AM TIRED.
probably the weather.
I might take a nap... mmmmm thinking about it.

It is snowing hard here but very fine. No visibility but Accuweather says it will be over in 11 minutes!

I went out for lunch, got emergency groceries, did the banking and walked home. The wind is blowing very strongly and I had a hard time getting up the walkway from the road because the wind kept blowing me sideways. The snow had just started but wasn't bad like now. The wind-chill makes it feel like 18*F. Not pleasant. We'll be going back out in it about 30 minutes from now.

I just sat down with a glass of tea to take a much needed break.

Trip to town took 5 hours. I took my laptop with the intention of having some solitude time at a coffee bar. But once I got into town I just wanted to get my things done and get outta there.

Farmers Market was my favorite part of today. As I am developing relationships with the sellers, I find it enjoyable to talk with them as well as purchase their homemade goods. Today I bought more organic, pasture-raised meat from a guy that always has his little boy with him. I bought homemade bakery goods from two different booths. They are both excellent cooks. I bought also some vegetables but they aren't locally raised (they came from Texas).

I had the back of the SUV loaded with donations so I took them to a local non-profit group that we like to support.

WM - ugh. I had to make myself stay in the store and just focus on finding things on the buy-this list. The megastores are soooo big with so many choices. I find myself just wanting to get away as quickly as possible. I returned DH jeans bought online and found 3 more pair for him to try. I still can't find exactly what I am looking for. While in the clothing section I grabbed a pair of jeans for me that are 2 sizes smaller than I have been wearing. Also stumbled across a style of shirt that I have been wanting to try (elbow length sleeves) so I bought 4 of them in different pattern/colors. If I find one thing I like them I buy as colors as I can so I don't have to shop anymore. There seems to be two type of people. Those who like to dress stylish and those who find something that works and doesn't change it. I fall into the latter category.

Sam - This was a quick in/out because I knew exactly what I was buying & where it was located. As I put the 20+ items in my basket I used the scanner on my phone and then hit pay as I was walking toward the exit. I like walking past the checkout and getting out of there quick!

I intended to eat in town but I just felt dirty after touching so many surfaces that hundreds (thousands) of other people have been touching. I decided to come home and eat after washing up good.

finished morning routines even though I didn't want to do it.
I also changed the cat litter. it's too snowy for picking up dog stuff.

what I should do:
wipe the toilets but I really don't want to do those on weekends. dh has done well on his - he even wiped his floor the other day!

made my list for this week (hopeful) that I couldn't get to this week. :D
ordered a pizza for us. I don't have the heart to go out.

We're at dinner now.

Walked by the flood zone. The city surveyors were there and measured the wall to be 2' higher than the current water level. Then they called for volunteers to raise the wall another level of bags since that's too close to the predicted peak.

I put the word out on Reddit. Because this spot is a few blocks from the transit station, those without cars can come and help. The worst hit places are outside the city's urban area. Two are towns ds looked at.

I pulled out all the table linens and am surprised I have so few. I've been purging over the past few years. So far very little doesn't spark joy.

It will be easy to finish up when I get home. Then I will set the table for tomorrow's dinner.

Kathryn - I am following along with your flooding experience with interest. I wish I could easily send you a huge bouquet of fresh cut beautiful colored flowers to fill your senses and surroundings with good smells and colors.

I realized today that I was doing things that I haven't done in months. I found myself capturing OMM thoughts. I used to capture my OMM thoughts almost all the time but when I didn't feel good I stopped doing it. It feels good to be doing it again. I have processed most of the thoughts by adding tasks and calendar events.

I made an OMM list too — but my 5 things quickly became 8 things.

I am sitting in Pizza Hut parking lot.
Can y’all believe they have messed up my order TWICE??? They offered to remake it so I am letting them! :p
Tomorrow is another day.

Here's a video of the river about 20 minutes west of me:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ottawa/comment ... ina_beach/

You can see the havoc the wind I was whining about is causing these folks.

Because where I live is parkway and parkland along the river here, nothing is as dramatic. The parkway forms a dyke. We'll lose most of the pathways along the river (they'll be washed away) but there are no homes to lose.

The other issue at Britannia is the water filtration plant that purifies the water for the majority of the city. The plant itself is high enough but they are fighting to save the road to it because they won't be able to get the chemicals in. That's where the troops are working. The road runs across Conservation area so they built it to have the least impact on the area. There's another plant much closer to me, but its road is higher and much shorter so it should be fine. But this reminds me to refill all my water containers in case we end up with a boil water advisory.

I can't figure out how to make a link to an album. So I've put all the pictures into an album at one point but then couldn't figure out a link. That cost me 2 hours yesterday so now I'm just linking directly to photos.

Edited to add: I just spent 40 minutes following the instructions and building a beautiful album and then it disappeared. I really hate Imgur.

You'll get a sense of how grey it has been this week.
