I had the garbage and recycling out before 7 a.m. Dressed to shoes with hair brushed and face washed. Don't want to scare anyone driving by.

The roasting pan from last night is soaking. All other dishes are done. The washing machine is letting me know that the last blanket is ready to go into the dryer. I'm not going to do the floors today because they aren't that bad.

Supper tonight is lasagna! I need to use that ricotta cheese that I bought last week.

Paper never stops.

Cathy - Thanks for the start!

I started my day at the local park with my favorite walking track. Inspired by reading H&F yesterday I decided to restart my habit of walking first thing in the morning. I had this habit for several years and like how it made me feel the rest of the day. I set my alarm an hour earlier and accomplished it. I am feeling rather enthused at baby stepping my way back to this good habit.

Today is planned on paper. There are 2 events that are a maybe. Today is the last Thursday with a full day of school. One week from today is the end of public school.

<<<<<<RANT - TOTALLY SKIPPABLE.
It is a big deal in my state about forcing the schools to return to 5 days a week (we are 4 days). There are many who feel strongly on both sides. I'm not nearly as concerned about how many days a week they attend school but how the time they are there is used. They spend a month preparing the kids for the state test. Once the state tests are completed in April they take up the books and quit teaching. The rest of the school year is spent on extra activities. Yesterday our little school had a dodge ball tournament. All 14 grades participated. Last week they spent days at the park playing. I am all for these type activities but not when they totally replace learning. If the parents don't do some sort of home school then the kids will go 5 months with no learning. (April - August). IMHO this is setting many of the kids up for failure. >>>>RANT STOPPED

d kathryn - I wish they had a day to help kids with homework, projects, learning that is extra fun but still tied into their year. I would think they could help kids who have questions etc. increasing the physical activity time for fun.
I agree heartedly about the over testing etc. and that we train kids to the test. I don't think teachers (good ones which are most) sit back. What do teachers say? I always have a hard time with politics and school boards make decisions without talking to the teachers and child development specialists for what is actually best for the child.

hi d cathy - thank you for starting us! love seeing your dinners; it always make me hungry

I had a rough night sleep last night - no reason. ;)
a bit of a headache maybe hiding. I will make sure I bring meds with me.

today is errand day for me.
boy am I glad I spoke to Kat yesterday - It cleared my mind - I tend to look at the big picture instead of breaking it down into parts (that I can actually do - not some miracle fairy coming along to give me super powers to get the jobs done). 8-) :D :D :D :D :D

I promised I would surface swish and swipe as I have not been doing that every day - I did it every other day. keep it simple. surface only - so swish swipe.
it looks like we will get rain. before heading out I need to check the weather.

have a great day!!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I enjoy Big Bang Theory when I do watch it - the characters remind me of my kids TBH. I know that ds enjoys it also!

Another day I'm thankful that I have my genealogy "mojo" back, I just wish it didn't take over my life. Again yesterday, with the long day with dh out last night, I never got to errands and just stayed here at the computer all day. :D

I had a pang of sadness with our topic title, Cathy. I've been avoiding the calendar's truth, lol, on this ending coming up. Shared experience for our society for sure. 12 years.

Dgd4 has a fracture and must wear a cast for a while. But she was in wonderful spirits last evening, happy to tell big brother all her adventures at the hospital. Dgs7 and I had a lovely quiet time together.

Morning y’all...

Yesterday I battled a migraine, but felt well enough to go my gym class which starts at 5:30pm.body is sore, not painful. I paced myself this time.

Have a few errands and things to do around the house. I am ready to start adding fun day to my week.

LadyM...most teachers hate getting their students ready for testing. It such a waste of teaching time. The other problem is after testing most students are done with learning and it’s really difficult to get them back on track to learn. Some, not all, teachers feel the same way. Too much pressure for every one results in a huge let down after testing with many school promising fun time as motivation to get through the prep and testing period.

I prepared my kids by telling them learning would continue to happen after testing. Granted it can be a tough sale to sell, but it can be done. My kids knew my expectations and settled back in. However the last week of school is usually a total loss due to special school programs and the collection of our computers , other media stuff and classroom books.

Off to start my day. Waving to y’all !!!

Good morning everyone! I did manage to do my most important anti-procrastination tasks: DPC, pictures of ribbons, church webwork, process enough LOL that I have pants today. Today's essentials are: timesheet, replies relating to animal org event, put away LOLs. Probably other stuff that I have forgotten. I am still a cough syrup zombie and must drive tomorrow. I will try taking half of it tonight instead.

I have only seen season 1 of Big Bang, but found it to be quite accurate in its portrayal of physicists. I associate each character in it to a specific person I know.

The easiest way to fix the post-test learning vacuum is to move the tests to the last week of school! DUH!

Briggs is still at cat coordinator's house because Ziva is occupying the sewing room and does not want to come out.
