Supper has been eaten and thoroughly enjoyed. Leftovers for dh for lunch tomorrow. I just need to turn the dishwasher on before I go to bed.

Twins - Taking a wild guess......is your operating system up to date? Sometimes an app gets updated that is configured to work with the latest release of the operating system and doesn't work well if both aren't updated. This happened recently with the church laptop. It took me 6 hours to get the OS updated because it was so far behind. Once all the updates were installed the problems went away.

DGD8 loved the Summer Reading Program today. It was a smaller group and she was 1000% involved. Almost too much. The leader isn't a teacher by trade and I think an experienced teacher knows how to work a group so one child can't answer all the questions. DGD8 answered the questions immediately and the other kids don't get a chance. DGD8 doesn't understand why they don't all answer the question because she feels the questions are so easy. ANYway, I talked to DGD8 afterward about letting others answer some of the questions.

DS10 had zero interest in attending the Summer Reading Program this afternoon for 6th graders because he wouldn't know anyone there (it is in a different town). DS10 tried to recruit some of his friends to attend so he wouldn't have to go alone but none of them were interested. They had remarks like "We just got out of school. I don't want to go read a book. I want to go play" I decided to not force DS10 to attend. I don't want him to have a negative feeling toward reading by being forced to attend. So DS10 joined his friends riding their bikes to play in the splash pad.
1. Know what you want.
2. Go after it relentlessly.

LadyM, I need to check to see if Windows 10 is up to date, usually it updates when I restart but I don't remember seeing any updates lately. Right now everything is behaving though.

We had scallops, corn on the cob and a green salad for dinner.

I'm working on putting finishing touches on presentation.

Unusual Wednesday here for me, glad its over.

DH took me to eye dr. appointment. They first did a refraction, where I was told I was seeing a bit better than 2 weeks ago. Then the Dr. removed the last stitch in my cornea. Had a bit of trouble with that, said the knot had gotten embedded. He couldn't grab the tail of the stitch with his tweezers so went to get others, those didn't work either, so he left again and came back with something different from the retina specialist. Those worked.

The antibiotic drops he put in after that procedure were thick and felt like honey. I was so sensitive to the light (after being dilated only half way) that I couldn't open my eye even with sunglasses. Closed the blinds at home. After a few hours I washed my eyes out with artificial tears and that helped. They felt gritty.

I guess I'll go back 1 more time so they can do a last refraction and give me a prescription to use if I decide to get glasses. Without glasses I am seeing 20/30 in one eye and the other is 20/almost 40.

Trying to feel grateful I can see at all. The reason I'm a bit discouraged is that after he put the correct lens in my left eye I was seeing 20/20 uncorrected, and over this past month + it went to 20/40. Like for once I saw what good sharp vision is, but that has gone away, so I'm a bit disappointed. If I'd never had that perfect vision I probably would be taking it all in stride better. Now that I've been without glasses for a bit I really don't want to go back to them.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I'll get something done around here.

(((Harmony)))

Late ci: for me.
I did NOT complete my 5x5, but I’m working on #3 of the Top Three:
1. Call to make dermatologist appt
2. Call dbil to give last instructions re:deeds
3. Declutter west wall of bathroom (vanity/desk area)

Oh. My. Goodness.
I have moved all the stuff that is seldom if ever used, and vacuumed and cleaned jewelry... and now it looks better, but aaaaauuuuggghhhhh —
WHAT to do with all this stuff sitting on the counter space beside me and the bench behind me???
I don’t want to throw it all away but... sheesh —
Newspaper and magazine clippings
Planners and “systems”
Just general paper overload completely!!!
I could start my own library. What do you call that reference section the librarian used to keep before google? Whatever — I’ve got it. If there is ANYTHING y’all want to know about your spiritual health, dieting, organization, or family matters, just come to me. — sigh —
Tomorrow is another day.

Ok, so I’ve got it all stacked on the bedroom floor and it totals over 16 inches, minus the hardcover books. And SOME of the books are still in there — Bible and a few inspirational books (and my F lylady book and the Happiness File book.)

Dh just walked through and said: What in the world is all that???

I’m going to be begin by sorting by type....
Tomorrow is another day.

Well, I’ve tossed out about half the paper pile... still about 7-8 inches worth to go through.
WHY do I save all this stuff???
But OTOH, how can I expect to REMEMBER the wisdom of these writings if I don’t save them (not MY writings, these are printouts from online articles, magazine clippings, etc...)

Things worth saving need to be hole-punched and placed in binders.

EVERY system/planning idea/organizing tip that works for someone else is not necessarily going to work for ME and is therefore not worth saving.

Perhaps I should give myself a limit — if a diet, exercise plan, bullet journal, weekly cleaning schedule — WHATEVER — has not been used in, say, 30 days? — then that paper must be tossed.
Tomorrow is another day.
