Today dh seems better, Harriet. But we will be closely watching what happens with his body over the next 2 weeks. I'm so thankful our co-pays aren't more than they are (we only pay $10/primary Drs and $15/specialists). I need to call and get the form to see if we're eligible for not paying co-pays. But I'm pretty sure our income is too high, but I may as well see.

Back from haircut.
Now -- I can just "chill" until time to go to the nursing home. There's stuff I could be doing more productively, but I think I will (purposely) give myself this block of time for me -- even though I did (not-on-purpose) give myself time earlier, before I vacuumed, and I kinda frittered that away doing a Sudoku puzzle and playing on the phone... Talk about unproductive time... * sheesh * I should REALLY make that a MAJOR focus of my day, Kathryn.

BTW -- I like your journal, but it seems like almost too much record keeping. I am keeping up with my own checklist, so I can always see what my weaknesses are, re: following my daily routines and goals. I have my morning and bedtime routine tasks on there, plus columns for WHB, focus, paperwork, exercise, etc. It is a very comprehensive plan and it works pretty well -- but as has been said a million times, no PLAN is going to do the WORK for us. There's my biggest shortcoming.
But I am trying to give myself some grace in this struggle for perfection, and I figure if I have spent 30-45 minutes focusing on the house or something else purposeful, (as I have done the past two days! :) ) then I am making strong strides in the right direction and certainly making an improvement compared to my normal activity level.

So today, my purposeful time has been spent --
 vacuuming in guest bath
 vacuuming in baby room
 going to bank (and post office)
 getting a haircut
 talking to dmom
 talking to ddil
 talking to boy who wants to hunt on our land, and denying that request because we have just had too many problems, too many people asking

Dee I am watching the lightning map carefully. I am also following the hourly weather forecasts for the town I live in. Fingers crossed that we will get that massive storm that is forecast for tomorrow. We need lots of rain. If we get it all in less than 24 hours, I'm okay with that.

Supper was awesome. Next time we will have it over rice. We finished off that huge Pyrex bowl that was full of potato salad just over 24 hours ago. To be fair, dh had a lot of it for lunch. He loves it.

Hi everyone! I was outvoted at the vet's office and Briggs has more meds and is back in cat coordinator's house. The vet looked back over a year's worth of records and decided he has intestinal lymphoma, which I already suspected. We are not doing the confirming test because it is expensive, won't change his treatment plan, and if a cat in his condition can avoid anesthesia he should. He is getting steroids, which will increase his appetite, make him drink more, and make him feel better, but will do nothing curative. The vet considers him a hospice case now. He will need medical boarding while the cat coordinator and I are out of town. I hate spending money for medical boarding of a rapidly declining terminal animal. Yes, he is not in pain and he could have a few more months of reasonable quality life, but no amount of $$$ will fix this. Steroids are cheap, boarding at a vet is not.

Speaking of not cheap, my car is at the "spa" getting a new radiator fan. The good news is that it has nothing to do with towing, no other damage occurred, and once the repairs are made, it's over and I can tow whenever/wherever I want.

I called the RV salesman and he did not mention an extended warranty, so, with the exception of the part I might have broken, I should be ok.

lucylee: I carry a container of baby wipes when I travel. They are useful in many situations. They are especially useful after filling your car and/or checking oil, transmission fluid, etc. My "baby" is 17.

I can certainly relate to LadyMaverick's AC troubles. My AC is fine, but could not be used due to the overheating. In fact, for part of my drives, I had to run the HEATER to draw off engine heat. In the desert. In the summer.

I suggest TwinsMom resubmit her genealogy paperwork when there is a new registrar.

:?: I can't remember why/if I was talking about this, but I do that too, Elizabeth. Especially with the dgrands in the car so often, this is very important! DH asked if he should continue clipping coupons for baby wipes -- since dgd is doing so well with potty training -- and I said YES. :D

Elizabeth and other who might be interested: Things look much better today. It's the DAR staff genealogist in Washington D.C. who seems dense. The local registrar from my chapter suggests sending application and documentation to state registrar who is from this area, and just had an application approved on this same patriot, although through a different child. Local chapter registrar says all known applications for which this type of letter has been sent have eventually been approved, even some that she thought were too "iffy" to sign herself. We've emailed back and forth several times and she has proposed a stronger conclusion that I think reminds the reader of the salient points.

I moved my laptop upstairs earlier and had some good research time on a possible case study for my portfolio. The trouble with this case study is that....I'm finding almost nothing on this guy anywhere.

I'm just sitting for a bit before cleaning up the kitchen. I cleaned while I cooked so there isn't much. Dh has calls tonight. He did take 25 minutes and we did a quick walk in order to burn off a small amount of dinner.

I had made stuffed pork chops. They were very good. I had mine with a frying pan almost full of veggies and 1 piece of garlic bread. Dh had the remaining 3 pieces of bread and a salad. I'm feeling overfull now so it was too much but it was good.

Maybe I'll be able to put in 30 minutes working. I also need to do stretches before bed. I missed them last night and was very sore through the night. I opted to skip my melatonin and to work on the snoring. As soon as I felt myself snoring, I switched to sleeping reclined on pillows, not on my back. According to my Sleep As Android app, I only snored for 3 minutes last night compared to over 20 the night before.

I had trouble falling asleep (it took 2+ hours) but my hip hurt, I wasn't in my favourite sleep position and we had been out all evening at the ball game, so really, the fact I slept as well as I did was good. I did not pop awake between 5 and 6, either, like I have been for the past few weeks. Perhaps I've been sleeping deeper with melatonin so wake up earlier. Today I was surprised I slept until 7 without it and still felt tired. That was 8.5 hours in bed and lately I've been happy with 7.5 hours of rest.
