Thinking of each other Thursday

Postby Harriet » Thu Apr 08, 2021 7:24 am

Friends here pop into my mind often.

There's the "what would they say?" moment (gasp)

And the smiles at silly situations we admit.

There's the remembering of requests, thoughts and prayers.

And the inspiration of fixing our own houses' repairs.

Thankfully, we're not actually looking at each other through the day, because we may not always be able to stand up to much scrutiny. (raising hand) However, I'm especially glad to have so much input from you!

Cathy, you are on my mind this a.m. because I believe it is your old stomping grounds of city life that is in some headlines today, even here. Health and safety being put on the front burner with care. best wishes for all.

No one here got as good a night's sleep as they wanted.

Today I have some cooking to do that I had to put off from yesterday, so today will be more time on my feet.

Lots of decisions about tossing or donating today.

I think of you guys a lot. I also think about people that no longer post here. Some are more recent than others.

Today's PODA looks something like this...

Kitchen needs attention. I also have 4 bananas going black, so it's time to make a banana bread with walnuts.

There is clean, dry laundry to be put away. There is also a damp load that needs to get moved to the dryer.

Dh wants me to go to the dump with a load of tires.

I need to go to the bank to make a deposit.

Supper is unknown at this point.

Seems our entire country is making news around the world thanks in part to our Prime Minister. Thankfully dh and I try not to discuss politics in this house.

Please, no scrutiny Harriet.

My bundle has been totally dropped for some time.
No more explanation than that.

I've made little forays delving into one area.
Ever hopeful to reach a turning point.
And slightly given up at the same time.

Today
appointment. there and home by bus - had to run to beat it around the corner to catch it home.
I needed a nap later.

Almost 5 I went out again to get things from Co les. Walking there was quicker than waiting for the next bus. Bought some just reheat meals. just 2. Such are my restrictions, they were the only suitable ones I found. Zilch in the freezer section.
Bought a new extra wash up dish - last one has its bottom cracked.
A message to me not to pick it up while its full of things, perhaps.
And Bought more gloves. And ammonia.
Gcheese, Gmilk, 2x cereal of different types. BF bread - no preservatives. And banana loaf single pieces wrapped. wholegrain gf crackers. Really - most are seeds, not grains.
Realised as I put things away I'd forgotten bananas.
I'll need to go back.

Tossed some plates - chipped and stained. And getting things to the bin sooner rather than later.

Waving to those still to come.

re vaccine here - There is an almost total reliance on AZ to be manufactured at home , we are assured production is ramping up.
Latest 1:100,000 problem has sent a bit of a message.
govt experts had started scarce Pfiser resources on residential care, mostly elderly.
hohum
1b was started before 1a was completed.

Its as well we kept up with the moat,
and low fly in numbers or it would be the same as overseas for #s.

Must tie up my day.
Sorry - no cowboy & hoss pics today.

Best wishes to Cathy. I'm not across your news, so hugs if you want them.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Good Morning!

I woke up feeling fine so was surprised to discover my voice isn't there. Instead of my normal voice, I have this whispering voice. No sore throat, no fever, but a missing voice. I looked at FitBit Health Metrics and find its data interesting in that it picked up that I haven't felt my best. Its data shows a couple of days ago my oxygen level dropped below my personal range and my heart rate went out of bounds. Thankfully, all my health metrics are back to normal now so hopefully, the worse of this is over.

Today's PODA -
** Homeschool
** Charter school
** 9:15am DD9 has zoom meeting with her teacher
** Lunch - Honey Garlic Shrimp, Caribbean Rice, mixed vegetables
** 5pm DS12 to group exercise
1. Know what you want.
2. Go after it relentlessly.

Banana bread with walnuts is in the oven. I sprinkle a lot of walnuts into the bottom of the pan before I put the batter in. There are also walnuts in the batter. Not a lot, but enough.

Dh only had 2 customers and he is already done, so he was in the kitchen asking me why I put Magic baking powder in and I don't say "Abracadabra" when I put it in. I told him it was a brand name... He also thought that 3/4 of a cup of sugar seemed to be a lot of sugar. Now he's gone to lay down and read.

Have fun, RR! Hope to see Facebook check ins!

Very late start today - no workmen here and dfriend M and I walked several laps. Occasional raindrops, but overall okay. DMuff went for first lap. I'm feeling lazy without a genealogy project underway.

The day is progressing along with one card at a time.

I did stop everything and went to the next town to pick up some shirts I had ordered from a local gal. While there we all got our choice of lunch from her BBQ place. My pick was Burnt ends and coleslaw. Everything we got for lunch was excellent.

One of the shirt saying describe me fairly well - "Somewhere between Proverbs 31 and Beth Dutton". It made me laugh when I read it so I knew that shirt needed to be mine.

We are taking a lunch break even though DS12 hasn't started homeschool yet. Ohs well, that just means he will be working on assignments later than usual.

I went to the garden this morning and realized it was the first time I've been in 2 days. THAT told me how lousy I've been feeling more than any other symptom.

43 SHE cards completed
1814 steps
1. Know what you want.
2. Go after it relentlessly.
