Thinking on it Thurs.

Postby Nancy » Thu Apr 11, 2024 10:46 am

What are you thinking about today?
I am glad I got on here had a reminder pop up on my screen about the inter net bill I thought
was on auto pay. Nope ~ that info was wrong any way I dealt with that.
Up at 5:15 and it was just getting lite out and was fully lite by 6:00 here this morning.
I have a plan and I can weed for 15 min. a day on the area I am focusing on and hoping to get it done in a week.
This section is by the deck. Looking forward to planting it and putting some seeds there too.

I hope you all can think what you need to do today and plan and accomplish what you need to.
Have a great one!

I have been thinking about diff. ones that have not posted in a while it would be great to hear from you all.

Thanks for the thoughtful start, Nancy. I agree with you on hoping everyone has accomplishments today, and on hoping to see some who haven't been here in a while.

I finished a pretty difficult step in constructing the quilt top, so that was definitely my "Thinking On It" and an accomplishment for my day. Sitting there at the machine, kinda stressed, surrounded by billowing fabric, I thought of "The Old Man and the Sea" - was it Anthony Quinn? Lol!!

Anyway, all those billows lie flat now, after I get it spread back out. Hurray for lots of pinning.

Next up, my tummy is growling - look at the time! Brunch, here I come, then the half-bath needs some cleaning attention. Then we are going to check on my computer again - hope, hope!

The Grand Slam of Curling starts in 15 minutes so I can finally sit and relax.

We have a couple of guys here detailing the truck and the car. It's raining and has been since last night. Ground is saturated already and the rain is supposed to last until Saturday.

Compost, garbage and recycling all went to the end of the driveway before 7:30 this morning. I've moved the storage area for the various containers to the other side of the garage for the spring/summer/autumn seasons.

Kitty litter boxes got cleaned this morning. The counter top compost bucket also got washed. Various clean pots and pans got put away. I still have to empty the dishwasher. The stuff from the washer went into the dryer this morning and now all of that has been put away.

Supper tonight will be kielbasa, perogies, asparagus (to use it up) and cabbage (to use it up).

Have any of the mods heard from Kathryn? Does anyone have an update on Harmony? I hope Twins' Mom is having a good time on her trip.

Good morning!

After I dropped DD12 off at school, I went to the city to pick up the fellas. DH and DS15 drove a 2009 pickup to the shop to have the rear end of the vehicle worked on. This is the final step of getting this vehicle ready to drive. It will be DS15 primary vehicle. There are 116 days until DS15 can drive on his own (outside of our town).

I've made a big pot of my favorite meat/veg soup. I miss it when I don't have that soup to eat. It hits all my nutritional goals and is easy.
1. Know what you want.
2. Go after it relentlessly.

Waving to y’all…

Up and got my morning routines done and footprints removed. Then I started the laundry. I bought a pair of sandals yesterday and picked up the wrong size. Took them back today and exchanged them for the right size.

It is extremely windy here today and we are expecting rain. Gusts are blowing at 40+ mph and my sunnies, though staked are definitely blowing in the wind.

Harriet… bet you have a mouthful of pins while you work on your sewing. Know it happened to me when I used to sew. Yesterdays trip was to a general dentist and when I had my root canal done the other week I was sent to a specialist.

Need to get on my gazelle for some steps, but first need to make a few phone calls

Se y’all later

Ramblin', yes, I sometimes manage the pins in a toothpick grip, lol. But it's more of a last resort when I need to reposition a bunch of pins and can't reach a pincushion. I have my cross-stitched pincushion with areas separated on it, for "best", "good" and "long" pins, and in its "good" area, a couple needles with thread already in them so they don't burrow away. But lately the new magnetic pin holder I posted about in A, C, and N has been a huge help. It "reaches out" and takes the pin I'm trying to let go of, so I don't have to even glance to push it into a cushion.

HRH made tasty sandwiches for our lunch. BLTs with MorningStar not-bacon, making the house smell good. His kind of tomatoes (underripe to me), but they have a nice twang.

Cathy, I've reached out by snail mail to Kathryn , just to be kinda obvious, I guess, lol. I hope they are okay. We have her email from times she's had to contact all, or from here in general. I continue to remember Harmony in snail mail sporadically, including her dh's first name, too, to make sure he knows we think of him, too. She had mentioned his name sometimes here and some few of us had talked with him or even met. I could put it into that thread about sending cards to her. Was she/family on fb?

Thinking about... think, think, think... (didn't Winnie the Pooh say that sometimes?)
I am thinking about how my weight is getting out of control and all I want to do is eat... and I wonder if the rx shampoo is okay to use with conditioner... and I hope my mother is feeling better... and I need to iron... but first I need to wash another load of dh's clothes... and I hope dgs' ballgame is cancelled tonight (dgd's already is)... and I need to call my dfriend and do lunch again but -- when?... and dmom and I need to go see her dfriend who has dementia -- but when?... and...
Sorry you asked, right, Nancy?

Oh -- and I should send Harmony a card and try to contact Kathryn, also. And where is Elizabeth??? Seems our little village is getting smaller, isn't it? Thanks for update from Twins!

I certainly admire your quilting ability, Harriet. Is this current quilt a special project for someone else, or for your own enjoyment? I've told you before, but my grandmother's quilts are some of my most prized possessions.
And your 15 minute commitment to weeding, Nancy.
I know looking forward to that 16th birthday has to be exciting for ds, LadyM. It seems like yesterday you were telling us about him and he was just a toddler! Time flies...
Speaking of which... Harriet's dd is getting married... my goodness these babies grow up quick.
Rose, it is still raining cats and dogs here. :D I think it has rained at least some every day this week. I don't see how dgs could possibly have a ballgame tonight.

Seriously, on my PODA for today is
[ ] Wash load of dh's clothes
[ ] Iron dh's clothes
[ ] Clear another bookshelf
[ ] Vacuum main area of house, and master bedroom & bath
Tomorrow is another day.

In case you haven't heard who died yesterday, there was a picture of a white Ford hearse (that looks like a Bronco) being followed by police on a highway on FBook. Along with numerous comments regarding trying the gloves on now to see if they fit.

Yes, Cathy, HRH asked me early this morning if I believed a report he was seeing from an unfamiliar news outlet that he had died. I told him, well, 90 percent, but maybe it's one of those hoaxes where the person hasn't really died. Of course, then lots of news stories later. Cancer, they said.

lucylee, this is dd25 and the young man's wedding quilt. I had also made a wedding quilt for dd-now-44 when she and my late dsonil married. I didn't for ds - he and ddil married in Jamaica on a wedding-company's vacation package and even though it wasn't an elopement it didn't offer time for me to think about a quilt. Dd25 has given me enough time, lol. (I hope.) When ddil had her baby shower I made a quilt that decorated the church fellowship hall, though, so I don't think she and ds felt left out. And I made a quilt for dstepson and dstepdil's dd, and my first two grandchildren (dd44's) but stalled after that on children's quilts. Life kept happening.

The middle of this day has been lost to looooong phone calls - from a lady from church and from my dmil.

Dmil is so worried about her sister, whose adult grandchildren are sponging off of their grandmother terribly, almost to the point legal steps should be taken. Yipes, so complicated. The daughter in the middle (grandchildren's mother) has a debilitating disease and is unaware of this, and frankly, of most things. How on earth the problem can be solved, I don't know. Dmil's sister needs advice and help from outside party who carries authority. I suggested the other dd (only sibling of the one who is so sick) but dmil says she is so meek and mild she's afraid to speak up. Ugh. Situation needs a lawyer, I think. Those kids (adult kids) better be careful - much more of this and they will have to deal with their great-aunt (dmil). She is fine with speaking up.
