June's Dynamic Declutter

Postby Harriet » Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:09 am

What ONE area of your home could you take notice of this month, work toward improving, and then enjoy a real difference? It can be stress-relieving and self-affirming to recognize an area that is causing some disappointment :( and notice yourself gaining control over it. When we can manage that, it can be hard to tell whether our home benefits more - or we do! :)

Does anyone have a deadline they'd like to share here, or a plan/schedule toward a particular date?

Have you had a success you'd like to share? It helps all of us to find out when one has made progress!

Here's one plan that might be a helpful one to remember. Indiana will be leading the very cool Focus Cleaners 8-) to these areas beginning these dates in June:

porch/entry 6/7/2010
bedrooms 6/14/2010
bathrooms 6/21/2010
office/other room 6/28/2010
closets 7/5/2010

Decluttering there ahead of those times would mean clear surfaces to clean for those following her lead!

The yard is one area we've been working on,
we had piled high the trailer with branches and "stuff"
off to the dump with it and it's now gone yea!

Stopping by to take credit for a large overstuffed trash bag of bedding dropped off at Goodwill yesterday. DSisIL wanted to get rid of a comforter set with dust ruffle, pillow shams, and several large decorative pillows. It was a pretty set, but unfortunately it was totally wrong colors for our bedroom. She didn't want it back and I didn't want it hanging around any longer.

I resisted the temptation to go into the store because I didn't want to risk bringing enough "stuff" back to fill the space just emptied!

I've been working on the master closet this week. I'm hoping to finish it up this weekend.

I put in 4 more 15-appts in bedrooms, 2 more in bathrooms. Worked so much on office (all tangled up with filing) that I really can't put a number on it... ...ten 15s? something like that!

Good decision to head to Goodwill and let them bless someone else, BookSaver!

I need to follow Nancy to a kitchen counter that I know MUST be decluttered before electrician arrives to add an outlet.

Smile Lee, good job on closet declutter. I let go of a few things from mine, 5 or 6 from dd's. But we need to get more ruthless!
