The Clutter Monster

Watch out for the clutter monster,
Who wants to ruin your life.
He'll move in uninvited,
And proceed to cause you strife.

He tells you to save,
Each magazine and bill,
If you follow his advice,
Your house will over-fill !

He tells you to keep this,
He tells you to keep that,
Even to keep,
Your dirty torn hat.

With things in boxes,
All over the place,
You'll soon find out,
You have no space!

He's convinced you to keep,
All of your junk.
His advice to you,
Is just plain bunk!

Throw out some paper,
And claim your life back,
The clutter monster,
Will at first give you flack.

If you keep up your efforts,
Your house will look swell.
Clutter monster in your house,
No longer shall dwell.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work.

I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it.
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

Oh, sorry, Harriet, I did not mean to lead you astray with my closet lament! Just remembered I also have a stack of very large paintings in frames that fit in the old house but do not fit here. And my 2 foot machines are in there, the foot bath and the foot massage thing. Fibber McGee has nuttin' on me!

Love the poems, blessed, thanks for sharing. Do you have a big house? You talk about a lot of spaces.

First load of catalogs from the cabinet purge are at the curbe tonight. The bin is emptier than usual, so I think I'll take another handful out there.

dharmony I think for my area it is considered normal and small and very small to very very small to other families in the northern and north west part of our town. And our house is not up to par with our neighbors for decorating and fix up as it is expensive and many here have the money to do the fancy decorating that I can't but that's okay... lol I just want a CLEAN house that feels like a home that my children feel warm and welcomed every time time they come in our front door.

my youngest dd had a group homework project that met at a girls house - she had an elevator, a basketball court, a pool inside, a veranda off the girls bedroom that was like you were living in italy, a pond with swans (yes swans) and their guest house was bigger than my house made out of beautiful stone. dh joked that we could afford, maybe, the bathroom (guest). The family was the nicest family. I have found that here a lot... you can't tell who is nice and who is not by their home but by the actions and responses to those who do not have what they have. And trust me I don''t have what most of the people here have lol. So I don't compare with others because our house might seem normal to some and much much smaller to others. :D I wish we could afford the work that others have done but me doing the work makes us "thrifty" :D

This week I had some stuff bagged and under the sink trash can was full h. figured out how to get it to fit. I had already decided to let go of it so that was my strategy yea for progress.

Next week after the trash goes I have more pumpkin vines in another can waiting to go next week! Leaves will be used as bedding for hens first before they go as I see hens napping on 'em in the yard so I know that they like those!

dh had take 2 bags out of my car a long time ago - I tried to figure out where the things in there went and today I found them. so 2 bags gone trough 1/3 tossed, others ready for put away, necessary things for car: maps etc.. going back into the car. life jackets taken out of garage.

went through drawers in family room and dejunked, recycled, and put in trash if necessary
