lucylee you aren't failing me.

I like your idea about getting more fruits and vegetables in with the emphasis on fruit for right now. While you are getting ready to try again just being aware of what you are consuming during the day will help a lot. If you can't count your starches just by mentally reviewing the number of starch foods you have in a day will help.

If you have 8 starch foods in a day then you know you are done. your pb crackers, granola bar, crackers at lunch are 3 starches. Don't worry about the actual count just that you had 3 starch foods. Then the kashi, hamburger buns (2), fries, cone, and ice cream (2). That would give you 10 starch foods - not starches but starch food for the day.

No I haven't wasted my time. You will reach the point you want to eat healthy.

Stopping by to show I haven't stopped using the knowledge I have learned this month. This is DGS15 Special Time weekend and he has a friend staying here also. So I am triple timing it to stay up with (and a bit ahead) of 3 boys which is cutting into the time I was spending tracking every bite. I've been keeping DGS's busy which is keeping ME busy.  The great thing is.......I am aware and KNOW how many starches I am eating (3.2 starches so far today with a baked potatoe planned for supper so will be around 6 starches for the day).

Ever spare moment I have is being spent on preparing for September goal. MENU PLANNING!!! I am going to plan the entire month of September meals including tracking nutrition for the meals and grocery list! (I'm creating an excel spreadsheet with formulas doing all the calculations). Building on the lessons I've learned in August (starches) I am going to see if I can P-LA-N and have a clue what we are going to eat more than 30 minutes before we eat it. This will be a HUGE accomplishment if I can pull it off. I am so excited about doing it!

got to quit jabbering and get back to supervising. The 2 teenage boys wanted to earn so money so I have them painting one of our out buildings.

8.4 lbs lost in August.
