breakfast -
tall smoothie of blackberries, blueberries, peach, banana
lunch -
1 slice of Chuckie Cheese Pizza  and tiny Coke
early supper -
big salad with avocado, cuke, sunflower seeds
stir-fry broccoli
cupcake
Greek Yogurt
later snack -
Triscuits (lucylee got in my head)
popsicle

barely 5 veggies and way too many carbs - there was some restraint but not enough.

Insights - my tummy feels so well on morning fruits. I actually seem to feel better all day on the days I have those as opposed to the days I have the cereal or wait until brunch of more lunch-ish foods. I'm sure it would be the same with morning fresh veggies like a veggie-stick platter or Smile-Lee style juicing.

Yum!
Did great on my blood sugar readings today too.

Harriet - I agree. Starting the day off with vegetable or fruit drink is my favorite. I should do that on the weekend when I have more than 2 minutes to grab breakfast.

I have come down with ???flu??? or something. Running fever (101-103), upset stomach and every inch of me is sore. I was thankful to keep Sprite down yesterday afternoon/evening.

(((Indiana)))) I didn't realize you were running fever too. Hope it passes quickly.

I love eating this way!! Nothing is off limits, I just need to make wise choices so I can get all the categories in. The starches were hard at first to cut back. I was used to eating way too many of them. Also I didn't realize how little milk I normally consume. And the sodium! YIKES! It is easy to OD on it. KNOWLEDGE IS POWERFUL!

I'm starting to feel better so hopefully this was just a 24 hour type bug. I am going to take it easy on my digestive track today. Jello is going to be my friend. :D

Nancy, you are having so many good bs days lately - very cool! I love berry variety this time of year. Our bodies are saying, "Oh, thank you - new nutrients!"

((Indiana)), I had no idea about the fever, either. The 1,800 is something you had mentioned earlier as a number to shoot for and I'm glad you hit it after a few low days. You know, some people count the weeks' calories and divide and don't pay much attention to individual days anyway.

I'm so glad to read you feel better so soon, OKay. (I must tell you I got a little concerned to hear this at first, because my recent "developing pneumonia" came on with body chills and aches first. HOWEVER, not nausea.)

Week 3 (Aug 15-21) averages -

Calories (1500) 1236.0
Fat (55g) 47.3
Sodium (2000mg) 1850.9
Carbs (125g) 148.1
Fiber (25) 19.2
Sugars (60) 62.6
Protein (55) 55.4

Free Foods (3) 0.4
Meat (6) 5.4
Fat (4) 2.5
Veg (4) 2.2
Milk (3) 1.2
Fruit (3) 3.3
Starches (6) 5.7

I am still focusing upon the starches, but the spreadsheet also gives me the other counts. I'm watching those in anticipation of next month focus.
