This thread is for anyone that wants to post what they ate to get suggestions or motivation on tweaking their eating.

lucylee these are your numbers for last week:
Sunday
13 1/2 starch = 1080
5 1/2 protein = 302
7 1/2 fat = 300
2 fruit = 120
Total 1802
Monday
14 ½ starch = 1160
7 protein = 385
13 fat = 585
3 fruit = 180
4 dairy (whole milk) = 480
Total = 2790
Tuesday
11 starch = 880
5 fat = 225
5 fruit = 300
4 ½ protein = 248
1 free (salad) = 0
Total = 1653
Wednesday
11 2/3 starch = 1000
5 fruit = 300
6 protein = 230
1 vegetable = 25
1 fat = 45
Total = 1600
Thursday
9 starch = 720
4 fruit = 240
8 protein = 440
4 fat = 180
Total = 1580
Friday
10 ½ starch = 840
6 fruit = 360
4 protein = 220
1 vegetable = 25
7 fat = 315
Total = 1760

I'm so glad you are continuing your walking and becoming more aware of what you eat. You can do this and you are doing this.

Learning as I go here:
I had movie popcorn with no extra butter last night
half of a small bag 14 carbs.
took insulin for it and I'm glad to be able to say
that my b.s. was good at my next reading. Yea!!!
That was "dinner" and the carbs I had for the day.
{Seems to be the only way I can keep from
not gaining is to have carbs around 20 for the day.}

6 am - 1.6 starches130 calories/80 = 1.6 starches for
Fiber Bar 1 pm - 1 Starch1.0 Fried Pork Chop (guessing the breading = 1 starch)
0.0 Sliced tomatoes
0.0 Green beans
5pm - 3 starches0.0 Fried PattyPan squash
3.0 Spaghetti & meat sauce (1 cup cooked)
0.0 Wilted Spinach
8pm - 0 starches0.0 Grape Juice (1 cup)
5.6 = Total Starches for 8/1/2010Not sure of my starch counting yet, so if you see somthing wrong please share!
This seemed easier than I ever thought it would be. Beginners luck? Time will tell.
Of course, I am ONLY counting starches. I'm fairly sure the fats would have been off the chart if I counted them (fried foods for 2 meals. eeeks!)

OKay & Nancy -- glad to see y'all joining me in this thread! I hope Indiana is right and the counting will lead to better choices...
Right now I'm having a really hard time keeping those starches around 10! SIX is a far away dream at this point!
SATURDAY
Breakfast1/2 Egg McM -- I only ate one half of the bread -- 1 starch
PB Crackers -- 1.5
McD Cinnamon Rolls -- 1000? -- Seriously, they probably count 3, right?
Banana
Lunch/SupperSmall serving of spaghetti -- 1?
Steak -- about 4 oz., I would imagine -- it was a 7 oz. sirloin and I ate approx. 1/2
Small salad --
3 pieces bread -- 3
Later, snacks Goo Goo Cluster -- 3
Popcorn -- ?
Drank nothing but diet drinks all day

0.0 starches - 2 pecans @ 9am
2.0 starches - Pinto beans (1 cup) @noon
0.0 starches - sliced tomatoes
0.0 starches - Yogurt @3pm
don't have a clue what is for supper eeeks!
What really happened today - 6.1 Starches1.6 Fiber Bar

1.5 Pinto Beans (3/4 cup)
0.0 Tomatoe slices
0.0 Pecans (4 halves)
0.0 Peanut butter lollipop (spoon)
3.0 Rice (1 cup)

August Daily StarchTally -5.6 starches = 1 August
6.1 starches = 2 August
Indiana - I'm so thankful for your support in this. I would probably continue to procrastinate at getting a handle on my eating. Thank YOU!
LucyLee & Nancy - Thank you for posting your food. I probably wouldn't be focused enough to do it on my own.

Nice job OKay. I like the way you laid out the post too. I'll use it too if you don't mind for lucylee.
