That's good, what's even better is that he actually cares about this.

Yes, I'm thrilled. For years he thought about it only, and he's finally broken through the indecision and decided to change things.

I have though drawn a line in the scale about where I will not go, and will stay on the safe side of that line for a while.

That is huge thing I think. "draw a line in the scale" LOL. Maybe I should take a permanent marker and write above the window on my digital one, "Is this number above 150, Harriet?" And maybe, "danger, danger!". LOL

It's not just health alone. It's about how much comfort you're prepared to lose - it is uncomfortable to put those pounds back on.

My ddad is walking a mile a day now, in 2 separate walks. He won't be able to keep this up in bad weather but for right now it's a good thing.

wonderful walking!!!

I am going to try again to break my tv watching habit as I find I use it to space out at night instead of using the time for things I enjoy. I watch still way to much tv at night. so I hope no one minds if I try to break the habit here. ;)

I didn't turn off the tv as Mystery was on Foyles war

but I did refill my canned/frozen veggies as I eat those for snacks now instead of carbs. At first it was hard but now it seems normal. :D

I'm back from my walk
it was brisk today
and I'm sweating now.

I vote we combine this with the what I ate thread for Oct.

Nancy if you don't mind I would like to keep them separate again in October. There is enough volume for the month in both threads.

I see H&F more of a discussion than a log and What I Ate... more of a log than a discussion. Discussions and logs occur in both but based on what I see I think having them separate so that the daily eating logs don't get in the way of the discussions of general healthy practices is the best. It makes it easier to follow discussions too. The discussions in What I Ate seem to be more on eating and flow with the logs.

The H&F thread does contain eating discussions but they seem to be less and not as specific as in What I Ate...

I plan to get back to logging in October.

What is everyones preference?

One vote for keeping What I ate thread!

That thread is a like a carrot to me. it makes me want to return to logging my foods. Hopefully I can join in October. I NEED THE ACCOUNTABILITY. oH boy.....never was a truer statement made.
