I'm trying to shave off a few calories/carbs here and there when I can.
Cut back to one egg in the mornings got egg beaters for h. the house brand ones.
This cuts back on cholesterol for him.
egg beaters 30 cal. per serving vs 90 for and egg that's quite a bit.
saved 60 cal. correct me if I'm wrong.

I've cut back on the creamer to one T. a day in my cocoa in the mornings.
-15 calories / -1 carb.

I cut back on ranch dressing on my Taco salad while dining out. -2 carbs.

Every little bit helps.

Bumping up my exercise as I can walking more often through out the day.

Have had beans for lunch every day since OKay mentioned. Today with 1/2 sweet potato, small glass almond milk.

Breakfast nowsometimes includes cantaloupe, usually has some combo of peach/strawberries/blueberries with banana in a smoothie. (I'm not putting any type of milk, yogurt or powder into these - some might call them a whole-juice drink not smoothie?)

Suppers have been more varied but less virtuous. I will admit to a recent slice of pizza (tsk, tsk). Tonight salmon/celery salad with mayo and mustard, which I had also fixed Sunday night - that's good.

Fruit first (and alone) every day is my great help against tummy trouble.

Indiana, you are such an inventive person! Invent a way to get yourself interested in your lunch plate. It's a blank canvas. (I like your colorful supper.)

Yes, I think you are right - you put pineapple on top of beef and your digestive system rebelled - that would be my opinion. Fruit on top of meat. Because it takes a fruit/meat combination so long to digest, it was probably still affecting your stomach greatly when you drank goat milk, so then - :o .

For me, fruit has to come to my tummy alone :) and be left alone until it has exited the tummy :) or ...else. :( But a fruit meal that is left alone is soothing and seems to be a help against acid reflux all day. Can't explain it.

I have read that melon alone takes the least time to exit the stomach, as little as 20 mins, and bananas take the longest for a fruit, approx 45 minutes. But I have suspected that it can take longer. Otherwise, why would I feel satisfied much longer than that by only a morning banana, for instance? I think when you eat fruit combinations it doesn't make it take longer, but I'm not sure. I know that some tell you not to eat sweet fruits with acid because it is a bad combination.

Since I've read melon should be eaten alone (I never used to do this) I usually try that. This morning after I had started making my smoothie I remembered the honeydew and cantaloupe in the fridge and was sad. Sigh. I will probably wait until tomorrow for them.

One of the worst tummy experiences in my life came after a chicken Lean Cuisine pizza onto which I foolishly added pineapple. I had had pineapple pizza before and felt a little uncomfortable and didn't put it together. It was the meat with fruit that gave me the wake-up call. Pain!

So I think pineapple may be one of the more difficult fruits to add to other foods. It is an acid fruit, that may be part of it. I notice that it looks like you were able to put acid (mandarin) and sweet (fig, banana) fruits together earlier in the day without a problem. Some people can't even do that. Of course, mandarin may not be as acid as some other acid fruits, don't know. But, hey, if you are putting fresh fruits together with grains you are probably doing better than I can do - even that gives me pause.

Hope you feel better and the diarrhea wasn't the start of something viral.

That is interesting Harriet. I'll have to watch for that to see what my body does.

Thursday

Breakfast

Lunch

Dinner
Omelette, sausage, green onion 3 protein
Scone with blueberry jam 3 starch
Milk 1 dairy

Snack
Apple with peanut butter 1 fruit, 1 high fat +protein (or 2 fat – same benefits & calories)
Tea

Summary (goal) actual
calories (2000) 685
starch (8) 3
protein (7) 4
fat (4)
dairy (3) 1
fruit (5) 1
veg (5)

Yucko, yucko

The color today was the blueberry jam and red apple. Everything else was pale.

I came up with some ideas. Groceries come tomorrow so I have soup makings, tortillas for wraps for lunch, and more oranges to go with my apples, frozen grapes, blueberry and strawberries.

Harriet`I`eat`the`manderin`alone...maybe`30-60minutes`or`more`before`next`thing.
I`find`them`good`when`I`need`to`eat`quickily`but`don't`feel`like`compiling`"a`meal"

Food`combining`principles`has`acid`fruit`with`protien
and`starchy`fruit(apple`pear`babana)`with`starch.
Melons`on`their`own.
Papaya`is`another`that`comes`with`its`own`digestive`enzymes.

A-irola`suggestion`for`1hr`before`meals`is`usually`acidic`fruit`juice..
then`there`are`snacks`---`AM/PM/before`bed
but`meals`suggested`are`smaller`than`what`I'm`used`to.
And`often`6`suggested`variations`for`meals/snacks.

With`the`pineapple`I`ate`I`think`problems`were
the`quanity`I`ate
when`I`ate`it
that`it`was`from`the`top`end/more`sour.
If`I'd`tackled`it`before`the`meal`it`may`not`have`bothered`me`so`much.

Also`Salicylate`acid`is`a`problem`in`excess.
It`is`lessened`with`ripening.
Anyway...I'll`pass`on`pineapple`for`a`bit...though`I`often`have`a`can`in`the`pantry.

Yesterday`went`better
vinegar`water
Orgran`Multigrain/GF`O's
Late`lunch`=Carob`coated`Buckwheat`Crispbread`(It`contains`Dairy`and`sugar`but`seems`ok)
2`tiny`carrots.
I`ate`the`sausage/bean/vege`mix`from`yesterday`watered`down`to`a`broth.(that`was`better)
Added`hm`flat`bread`and`avocado.
Still`had`the`cocoa`gmilk`later.ummm`Added`brazil`nuts.

Froze`remaining`serve`of`cooked`mix.
Just begin.

Lynlee I'm glad to see yesterday went better. You had a good idea to add liquid.
