I am 1.5 lbs from a big goal that I set for my birthday. I have one more day to make it happen. Today was spent outside with Sweetie. We went to a safari type zoo two hours away.

I stayed on my plan, I got most of my water in and I walked almost 11,000 steps. Can't do much better than that. Will be holding my breath when I step on the scale these next two days. Either way I should reach my goal by Sat and I can live with that.

Hang in there okay... You're one the right track. Stay focused... It's all in your head and you can do this.

New day. New start.

This week I am focusing on establishing the healthy habit of fasting 6pm to 7am. Which is a nice way of saying STOP EATING LATE AT NIGHT!.

Walked 1/2 hour, did stretches before, after & in between.
Been doing heavier housework & laundry, too.
Yoga's next. I NEED to do my yoga & get back on track with it!!!! :!:

Nancy, of course there is more than one way to go... ... you probably remember the direction HRH went was the mostly vegetarian eating idea for type 2. If your friend would be interested in learning about that way. the expert is probably Dr. Neal Barnard who has a website with his succesful studies and results of medical cost reductions, etc. Also there is the Full-Plate Living blog, which is from the authors of The 30-day Diabetes Miracle book, which HRH liked best of all the books on vegetarian-type eating results for type 2 diabetes. I like their blog, because they give a lot of tips on quick, smart lunches, how-tos for avoiding sodas, cravings, etc.

HRH does well on his mostly-vegetarian days and notices that he feels worse sometimes when he gets too much meat now, but of course he is what they call "pre", not full-blown type-2 diabetic. The problem with the mostly-vegetarian idea is when people go overboard on whole-grain breads, which can be a problem. It comes down to what works for each individual. Good luck to your friend.

Weighed this morning ...not there yet, but CLOSE ;-)

I got in 4 miles and 16256 steps. Went out to eat lunch with my friends and had a grilled tuna steak sandwich minus the bread. Swapped out the fries and cole slaw for a small side salad. Didn't eat much of it because I focused on the tuna.

Came home at my very first tomato that I have grown for dinner plus a bit of baked chix. Drank plenty of water. cant do any better than that. Tomorrow will tell the tale. Have decided even if I don't reach my goal, I will have a cupcake to celebrate my b'day. That would be stupid not to do that.
