Sunday eating:
Pint water
banana
2 bites cake at church under pressure!
Egg salad on bed of lettuce, Slim Fast
3 oz salmon steak
baked potato, 3 tbsp sour cream, 1/2 cup bell pepper
Pint water
1 stick leftover chicken satay w/ peanut sauce
2 bites cheesecake
small Pepsi
1/3 cup egg salad evening snack

Sodium complaints from me!
Indiana you are such a good cook you should have no trouble getting in your vegetables in many fun ways. Just watch that sodium on the juice - I can't "have a V-8" or I'll retain water. The low sodium one is better for me, but I remember how good the other one tastes and then don't care for it as much!!!

lucylee, you have much too good a brain to have surgery on it! Instead just surgically remove those triscuits from the house. Sodium, sodium - they sure do make me retain water. Diet coke makes you crave more sweets - it could be sabotaging you.

Monday eating:
Pint Water
apple, a little juice
Pint water
egg salad on lettuce, Slim Fast
Pint water
Wendy's Taco Salad, no dressing but did have chips
half a small bag M & Ms
yogurt
Lean Cuisine Enchilada - 270 calories

wait a minute - I ate a couple bites of dd's Wendy's child's hamburger to finish it

Sunday -

milk, scrambled egg with diced ham and toast
steak and salad

I exceeded protein.

Monday -

fruit salad
toast
tossed salad
fruit salad
chili and milk
Christmas cookie and milk

I hit goals for fruit, milk and vegetables. I did well on meat and fat. The Christmas cookies were one of the gifts Dh received.

Instead of saying what goals I didn't reach since that didn't work last week I'm going to go with what goals I hit.
I agree Harriet the low sodium isn't the same but I found it is good with lemon juice added and just a splash of worchestershire.

Okay...
Monday...
Breakfast -- Special K Protein cereal, banana, diet Coke
9:00 -- Propel water, peanut butter crackers
Lunch -- turkey, cheese, Triscuits, carrot sticks, Hershey's Kisses
4:00 -- one pretzel Rolo turtle
(I found out that is what these little chocolate/caramel pretzel things are that student made for me)
Supper -- chicken fingers, French fries, diet Coke, 2 bites of pineapple, slice of coconut cake

Hmmm... this may actually work. I want something else to eat now, but I'm thinking, grrrrrrr.... if I eat, I'll have to tell Harriet & Indiana about it. :P

Drats...
11:00 pm -- cookie and another one of those pretzel things.
Tomorrow is another day.

Tuesday
)*(&%^)&*(&(*

Okay, Indiana, I'll bite. No pun intended. I rise to the challenge. I am satisfied this tops the worst eating yet:
Breakfast
yada yada yada -- Special K, banana, diet coke
9:00
peanut butter crackers, Propel water
11:00
granola bar
Lunch (12:40, on different schedule today)
turkey, cheese, carrot sticks, Propel water
* Notice -- no Triscuits. Don't know if that's good or not... b/c...
Sometime during the day, I don't remember when
approximately 5 or 6 Hershey's kisses
3:30
the last of the pretzel Rolo things
the last Christmas cookie
another pkg of pb crackers
an apple
Supper
chicken fingers, French fries,
one of those no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies that probably has 1000 calories

I think the fiber/whole grain of the Triscuits helps keep me filled up for the afternoon. I don't know if I should leave them off or not.

Tuesday -

chili (for breakfast)
ham sandwich and tossed salad with apple (dinner)
christmas cookie and milk

Wednesday -

chili (for breakfast)
ham sandwich and tossed salad with apple (dinner)
christmas cookie and milk

yep same menu both days

Shaking my head. lucylee you can't do any worse than my eating today.

lucylee in my humble opinion I think you should leave the triscuits in. You are getting less sodium in the triscuits than the peanut butter crackers, turkey, pizza, hanburger, chicken and popcorn. You seem to do fine in the morning and at lunch and usually with your afternoon snack. You may want to switch the crackers with the triscuits in the afternoon to see if it helps your evening meal.

That's what I think, Indiana... the Triscuits are filling, and seem to stay with me better, so I'm not just grabbing for everything that catches my eye when I come in the door.
Oh my... today has been horrible.

Wednesday
Breakfast

Special K, banana, diet coke
9:00
peanut butter crackers, Propel water
Lunch
turkey, cheese, (a very few carrot sticks b/c they were sorta mushy... yuck.) Propel water
granola bar, two sugar cookies (thank you lunchroom ladies)
3:00
another cookie (gingerbread) (thank you dteacher friend)
Special K snack bar (just b/c I was stressed out)
diet coke
7:20
MORE pb crackers
(b/c I am about to faint from hunger and dparents are not ready to meet us for supper yet!)
Supper
Hamburger steak, baked potato (no butter, etc.), a few bites of toast, diet coke
Later b/c I was falling asleep grading papers
ANOTHER Special K snack bar, more diet coke

My pb crackers have 220 mg sodium. How bad is that? I have no idea what the limits for sodium should be.

I should have suggested removing things with white flour - not something with whole wheat. I'll admit the Triscuits have some redeeming characteristics. Even though I worry about sodium, while I'm thinking about that, white flour items are sneaking up on me. I wish I had turned that Wednesday barbecue sandwich into a barbecue plate instead and tossed that bun, but dh brught them home and it was already pretty much one consolidated item.

I watch sodium very closely and thought the triscuits were ok - not great like natural food but ok. Then when I compared to 18% peanut butter crackers, 19% turkey, 19 - 30 pizza, 22% double hamburger and the nuggets and popcorn. They came out a better choice that some things.

Wellll, I thought I couldn't do this because of injury to the entire village as sides split from laughing or necks break from shaking... but reading what y'all are doing I don't feel too bad.

So maybe I'll start, it couldn't hurt me. Or should I wait till the cookies my neighbor brought over last night are done? And the lollipops I bought to put in the bows of DGKs Christmas packages.

Eating here is too sporadic. I'll go all morning with nothing then eat all evening. Ok, going to start tomorrow. You all have been inspiring!
