Daily Food Diary

MONDAY 12/8
Breakfast --

Kellogg's Protein Plus Special K (dry)
Banana
Diet Coke
9:30 --
bottle of Propel water
Lunch --
two slices turkey
5 Triscuits
1 slice cheese
pkg of baby carrots
bottle of Propel water
Special K snack bar
4:00
pkg of peanut butter crackers
3 mini Tootsie Rolls
5:00 --
6 wheat thin club crackers
a handful of Triscuits
Supper --
Part of a salad, no dressing
Frozen pizza
pineapple chunks
3 Christmas cookies
Diet coke
Since then --
Some more Tootsie Rolls, I lost count, but I think 3 or 4
Another Special K snack bar
More diet coke
:( No exercise.

TUESDAY 12/9

You know, this could backfire on me... I'm looking at Harriet & Indiana's lists and I'm thinking... hmmm... Cheerios... that sounds good... I think I'd like some Cheerios... :roll:

Monday I ate:
Pint water
SlimFast shake on the way to my parents' appts
Pint water
Egg salad half-sandwich with lettuce, cup of milk
Pint water
Wendy's Taco Salad with chili, no dressing, 1/2 of chips
small Pepsi
rest of chips later as snack with carrots
cup of water


Eating Tuesday
Pint water
SlimFast
Pint water
Egg Salad half-sandwich with lettuce, cup of milk
Pint water
.80 of a pound BiLo's 7-layer salad (pretty big)
small Pepsi
one Smart Ones veggie taco oops, quesadilla (220 calories), chips

I like the idea of "dissecting" what was right or wrong with the day like Indiana did.
... ... (mine were pretty good - thinking of things to sub for the Pepsi and chips moment! Not doing me any favors.
the Smart Ones quesadilla was recommended by Women's World mag as a healthy choice, 2 servings per box.)
How many days shall we decide makes a post? 2 seems about post-length to me.

Monday 12/8

cereal, milk, 1/2 banana
1/2 banana
1/2 turkey, swiss cheese sandwich with carrot and celery sticks and a small apple
apple
hot milk
toast for dinner about 8 pm

Short Monday - 4 starch, 1 fruit, 5 meat, 3 vegetable, 1 fat - at least I got 1200 calories

Tuesday
cheerios (just cheerios)
milk
banana
apple
hot milk
dinner salad size chef salad with bread

Short Tuesday - 4 starch, 3 fruit, 4 meat, 4 vegetables - at least I got 1200 calories

Not enough protein, fruits or vegetables. Starch and fat are ok to be low.

Wednesday 12/10

cereal, milk, 1/2 banana
bowl of soup
1/2 banana
tuna sandwich with carrot and celery sticks, and cherry tomatoes

Short Wednesday - 2 starch, 1 milk, 3 fruit, 2 meat, 3 vegetable - short 600 calories

Thursday 12/11

cereal, milk, banana (whole)
2 slices toast
apple
tuna sandwich with tossed salad with apple
chocolate kiss

short - 2 starch, 1 milk, 2 fruit, 5 meat, 3 vegetable

Wednesday - I'm getting there. I didn't have my morning or evening snack. I need to make sure to get fruits and vegetables.

Harriet you are making me hungry for egg salad and 7 layer salad.

I should be getting between 1600 and 2000 calories a day. I only got 1400 calories in yesterday and I was short the food groups I listed.

lucylee you should post anyway - the good - bad and the ugly. If it is written down it may help you the next time and to see a pattern on the type of foods you crave on a bad day.

Thursday - Harriet I put lots of celery, onion and dill pickles in my tuna. I'm going backward instead of forward.

Meant to post last evening - sorry. Indiana, I plan on starting tuna salad at lunchtime today. When I make egg salad, I make enough to last several days and so it would seem I am in a rut. But actually, it is hands down my favorite. What are you meaning by short day? That you were short on something?

Wednesday eating:
Pint water
small apple and Slim Fast
Pint water
Egg salad half-sandwich with cup of milk
Pint water
second quesidilla, 220 calories
tossed salad (1.5 cups, maybe)
slice of cardboard pizza with dd
small Pepsi
scalloped potatoes with dh

Too many starches at end of day so this morning I have water retention. Would have been as well off with the chips, maybe better if I could have stopped quickly. Still the evening Pepsi calls me.

Thursday eating:
Pint water
small apple
Pint water
Tuna salad with lots of celery; Slim Fast
Pint water
Small serving spaghetti one meatball
2 slices Texas Garlic Toast with butter (here's where the plan falls apart)
small Pepsi
tossed salad
Little Debbie snack

I missed my usual cup of skim milk early. Dh drew me in to his delicious bread at supper, which smelled so good - before I knew it I'd eaten a second slice of the bread and one of his desserts!!! That's what happens!!!

too ridiculous to talk about. Let's just say it started w/a chocolate Santa Claus and ended w/benneitts... I know that's not spelled right, but spell check won't help me -- the powdered sugar donuts type things you get in New Orleans, or in my case, local Cajun restaurant.

Lunch -- around 2:00 b/c we got out of school at noon, but I didn't get home till 2:00, and waited till then to eat
turkey, cheese, Triscuits, Special K snack bar,
2 miniature Tootsie rolls (thank goodness those things are GONE now!) ;)
Cheerios (no milk)
Supper
Hamburger w/double meat, french fries, diet coke
Waffle bowl sundae

Friday --
What have I not eaten today... * sigh *
Breakfast -- Special K Protein cereal, banana, diet Coke
Lunch -- peanut butter cookies, turkey, cheese, Triscuits, Propel water
3:00 -- Special K snack bar, apple, carrot sticks, a whole bunch of little chocolate-caramel-pecan pretzel treats that a student gave me for a Christmas gift... mmmm... they are delicious... and some more Triscuits... and diet coke
Supper -- Chic-Fil-A chicken nuggets, waffle fries, diet coke
9:30 -- popcorn at movie, pecan praline candy

I know. This is ridiculous. I need a lobotomy.

small Pepsi, 2/3 cup potato chips
1 stick chicken satay with vinegar cucumber
1/3 of a single-slice (3 bites) of frozen cheesecake

Friday 12/12 -

cereal, milk, 1/2 banana
1/2 banana
quarter pounder with cheese and large french fry (1,000 calories)
milk, apple

short 2 fruit, 5 vegetable, over by 3 on fat for the day. Fine on calories for the day - go figure with a 1,000 lunch. I was still full from lunch so had a large apple and milk between dinner time and snack time. I'm getting V8 at the store so I can get my vegetables.

Saturday 12/13

cup of hot milk
ham sandwich
cheese and crackers
turkey sandwich
dark chocolate kiss

short 1 milk, 3 starch, 5 fruits, 5 vegetables, 1 fat and not enough calories. My body thinks I'm starving it.

Thank you for the reminder Harriet that I haven't been listing my nightly chocolate kiss. I got the V8 but didn't have any today. I picked up lovely oranges and didn't have any.
