I walked Sat.
I am eating spinach for a veg. & had some v-8 a few times this week.

Increase fiber and veg. Goal:
Had half a serving of apple sauce this morning for fiber.
Had Metamucil the other day it helped sort of a wake up call for me on that.

Enjoy your experiment, LadyM!

Nancy, I have this on my mind often. I think to myself, have I had meals today that will be kind to my digestion, and I'm almost always thinking of fiber content, moisture content. I can't remember who it was among us who used to say, "keep things moving". That might have been Harmony.

The exercise puzzle has been solved simply by putting another tv into the bedroom where the DVD player still was. We went around and around on that one, even considering setting me up in the LR, where we had said we wouldn't have a tv, though there is good space. HRH was even figuring out how I could store a mat under the couch. But even though we may do that someday, for this winter's needs the bedroom makes more sense. We didn't end up buying anything - he had one we could use.

Harriet I have been thinking on my fall and winter exercise routines.
Today counting steps to the basement to put the sheets in the washer.
Just remembered leaf raking happens here and is a lot of my activity for the fall winter season.
My big tree is a late leaf dropper.
Getting up at 5 in the dark to do stretching does not seem so fun esp. when fighting a cold sinus thing.
I did pull some weeds this weekend on Sat. & Sun. for stretch breaks.

Had fiber bar for bfast today.
Walked ddog.
pulled some weeds and walked around the yard too.

Skippable brain dump /
I am trying to decide what & how to do my food log.
Doing int. fasting has me tweaking Rx doses.
Bs was up took a correction / and p m dose [less than usual I think] then it crashed hard in the nite.
Some of it was from the vaccines I had this week.
Some hormones maybe other food intake change aka no p m snacks.

So another nite I had a Neutri-grain bar in the nite 2 times this week. So I am off program.
But not worrying bc I am still in the tweak phase of this.
Only adjust one Rx at a time p m dose for now less of it.

One other adjustment had cocoa with my lunch today pushed it back to noon was not hungry at 11:00.
Boiled up eggs and peeled them for later, did that yesterday.
Had meatloaf stuffed acorn squash for my lunch today. Yum!

Writing down meals helps with menus later.
V-8 need to put it in the plan snack maybe.

I looked up veg. broth recipe it had 5+ T. of salt. WOW!
I do not put all of the stuff in the broth I have.

Had 1/2 plum yesterday that helped glad I froze some up.

One step at a time:
My energy is returning now. Low in a m bc of no food
Had broth today in the a m middle of the nite.

I am pretend writing a novel about a pie shop and have recipes and some food lists for shopping in there need
to combine that for reference when I was doing up meat pies...

Having aches and chills I assume from low dose flu shot / no fever.
I did not have one last yr.

So not sure how to put this in a log where to put it or how.
I will ponder this during my exercise time.

I used to write down Rx
food log
and notes in my diab. planner they had small spaces and do not even make em any more I think.
So bujo style will work hopefully.
I have like a bizillion journals I could use one of these. LOL!

So I will go with that.
I need to look up the health planner I put together this week.

I hope you find a way you like to keep your records or food log, Nancy.

I've been thinking about going back to the colored pens and circling chart for each month. It's almost like it takes too much brain power or something, to keep up with it daily, even though it is less writing. But it did serve a purpose of being cheerful. It had the problem of encouraging me to eat too much, though - trying to make sure I colored in every good thing sometimes meant I ate more than actual hunger would have me eat. The planner lets me use words and think it out more than the chart does.

Salt/sodium - yes, that can be a problem. I like to keep cans of beans and peas on hand and try to buy the very plain ones. Was disappointed lately that stock was low, and some had so much sodium - a huge difference. HRH reminded me that I can always rinse them off. I also pour off some of the liquid as I first open the can, if the sodium's not too bad. Can't beat cooking them myself and now that weather is cooling, I'll maybe do that more.

I could not sleep thinking of other things that need my attn.
I did put more pages I want to try for this log in the H&F planner
remembered I had gotten stickers with that theme too ~ non food reward.

bs was still under even after a pre-bed snack so more tweaking needed
but day time post meals have me needing it.

I was down in the dumps about no creamer in my coffee.
Poo on that I thought and had some! LOL!
Boiled eggs & v-8 are good snacks or meals.
I ate pork last mo. and ch. pie. not good on my #'s
But they fuss anyway even when the # are not that are not bad.
-----
I can push coffee with back till 11:00.
Had no bfast but had creamer in coffee this morning
had lunch.
[PM dog did not want to walk.]
Cran. juice next up* / or V-8
2 mini hand pies for dinner.
----
dinner
2 slices home made bread one w/ cheese one w/ jam
2 mini hand pies.
boiled egg
----
Stat bike 15 min. in afternoon
15 more after dinner.
-----
 Tip of the day: dgd made cheese cake here and it left with her too!
Sipping de-cafe' tea as I type this up.

Feeling better yea!

Can't beat cooking them myself

So true! I like cooking because I can limit or increase the ingredients according to my taste and needs.

Nancy - BWTG! You are doing amazing (as always) with your food planning and tracking of BS, intake and exercise. I'm looking forward to your discoveries with modifying food journal.

I am struggling. I know what to do. I have the desire & want to do it. But life keeps happening. I am trying to learn how to enjoy "breaking bread" with others without sabotaging my health by gaining weight. Next week I have seven meals that will be social pleasures but a challenge to keep from ruining my physical health.

Hum....I'm eating 6 times a day x 7 days equal 42 times eating this next week. Only 7 of those meals will be a challenge. That makes it sound not so bad and gives me an idea of something to try.

Well I’m back to joining y’all.!

My weight is way up, partly because my hernia keeps kicking in and the only thing that helps is eating any kind of bread and/or crackers.

I usually need to eat three times a day.. and sometimes with a small snack in the afternoon. Skipping meals just doesn’t work for me…

So it’s back to what I know will work and perhaps I can figure out what to do if I have a flare up. It’s not connected to what I eat, which is protein and veggies in the correct proportions, but to my bowel movements. Sometimes I get such terrible cramps while going it causes me to puke, which screws with my hernia.

I can address that by making sure I take fiber every day and drinking plenty of water, but every once in a while things go wacky.

The class I’m taking is a walking video. It’s about 45 minutes long and there is usually 6-10 women in the class. However I expect the class will grow larger once the snowbirds arrive.

Anyway Sweetie and I walk a fast pace 2 mile after dinner. If he walked his fast pace I would have to run to keep up with him. That means on M,W, and F I am walking 5 miles a day. Long ago I walked 4 miles a day 5 days a week and lost 40 lbs in 4 months.

So I’m going to do what I did then… eat three meals a day, walk 4 miles and make sure I drink my water. I recently restocked my freezer with fish, so I plan to eat 1200 calories one day and 1400 the next trying to confuse my system. We’ll see how this goes.
