Meant to mention that I've suckered/pruned the tomatoes to one vine this year (well, one got away from me so it will be two). I tried the idea I heard on youtube of putting the suckers into water and seeing if they will grow roots for late-season tomato plants. Yes. Yes, they will. Have gotten such roots they need to be pulled apart. So this will be something to plant when I get around to it.

I really just wanted to prove to myself it would work. As I understand it, they will be true to variety, in this case Early Girl Hybrid. (can't really see how they would be anything else, but it does seem like something must be wrong with this idea) I don't know that there would be time for a crop now - everything was late already for us. But an idea to consider for next year, definitely.
