Me too, Nancy!

Adding to this thread since I enjoyed reading what everybody was doing. Somehow I got motivated this year to do something about this straggly yard. I think the anti-procrastination challenge we had motivated me to do something about this also since I got the inside more in control.

Right now I am making a garden journal. Something to refer back to all the time. I saved the little tags that come in the plants and when I just had one of a kind I copied the back. So, now I have each plant on a different page and info about when I planted, how to water / fertilize etc. and sun and freeze requirements... I gotta keep all this stuff alive and not let them go like I did the last time. This is too much work to do over!

Got lucky, I'd lost one tag and didn't remember its name so I looked it up on the receipt and googled it and the store and up came the plant: Salvia Splendens and so now I have that information too. I don't think the outside of our house has ever looked this good, since we moved in here. Looking up the plants I've been finding info about how to divide if I need to etc. I'm determined if a plant isn't doing good one place, move it to another with less/more sun. Wish me luck!

Woohoo Harmony. That's a great idea of a garden journal with saved info.
I once started a garden map, but forgot it, and the official names of shrubs would have been handy.
The when things were planted too.

Nancy - I love to read of your steady activity.
Not the all or nothing thinking (some of us) / I suffer from.

Got the trailer moved, cut branches off another bush more like tree size limbs!
Got them loaded up with dd's help.
I mowed this week & got the grass raked up.
Got a climbing rose pruned and some grapevines cut back by the arbo r so I could see the back from by the patio.

I'm getting back into daily activity in the 'outdoors'.

Today I weeded in the driveway back as far as the first tree.
Someone has been 'helping' mowing the driveway, which is much appreciated, but the edges if planting between fence and trees is ever expanding outwards.
Everywhere else is expanding also.
Also did some post storm cleanup.

I am trying to gain strength in the garden. It is a slow process but I do get a bit better each day. I was exhausted yesterday afternoon as I worked the entire day outside on Thursday.

It is a bit chilly and it is supposed to rain but I still watered plants I need to plant.
I have a lot of green grass sprouts coming up in the flower bed - I have no idea why. I am taking them out separately so that I thin them out more and more. it happens every spring.

My body is a bit tired (muscles) so I am sitting and weeding as well as putting down mulch as I go from left to right.
Waiting for the rain to start.

This morning I planted the onions.
I have just done 45 min. In the back yard. I weeded with long handle tringle shaped how and the long handled hula hoe.
It looks better.

Thanks for asking about the storm Blessed

My place did ok. Cooked early and lit candles in case.
15min walk away people were trapped in their car when a tree and electricity lines fell on the road where they were. It took 2 hrs to get them out.
Coast shopping center got drenched from the ceiling. In house overflow.
The storm/s covered hundred of miles. hail. flooding. 17000 odd home left without power.
Hoping its last of the summer like storms, though there are still places waiting for rain as for them the rain hasn't come yet.

Since monday I've been doing some weeding daily. There is no chance of me running out of weeds anytime soon.

Great work blessed and Nancy.
