last night dd older made jacques pepin's chicken with chimichurri- really tasty
and we had my terrine (which didn't look good bc it was 24 hours too late - it's supposed to be served 8 to 24 hours at most. but it tasted great.
I will use the left over with spaghetti squash - chop it up and add to spaghetti squash and heat... with some parmesan on the side for topping.

tonight I am hoping to make the lentil buckwheat layer thing
(new recipe)
but I will put a frittata together (with chorizo for dd older and dh) just in case - knowing dh and dd older - lentils and buck wheat won't make it :D 8-)

My dd younger is loving the video's with the women your recommended d harriet.

I have to get basil

And I have enough bananas to feed a neighbourhood. 8-)
I can't find mexican oregano in our area so when I am downtown I might stop at a specialty shop.

 for Wednesday - I ended up with a headache and the family had jimmy johns

made buckwheat batter for tonight millefeuilles aux tomatoes et lentils (sounds fancy but is not) - but vegetarian
need something for dd older and dh that is meat - thinking of stopping at the local shop and get them a pre-made item.
https://cheergerm.com/2015/01/02/millef ... ady-crush/ - using canned lentils. I don't get the reason people cook these when it is so easy getting a tin or organic lentils
pulled parsnips and carrots - for roasting with herbs de provence

I struggled so with the buckwheat crepes - they turned out more like buckwheat pancakes - maybe not enough water???
I will watch some videos on crepe making. thinking that I might need to practice. also maybe making the buckwheat with a little white flour?
or use a buckwheat flour made for pastry???

also changing up the plain oil for drizzling and maybe use the dressing from lentil salad. I want to try this again.

bought chicken for dh/dd older to cook and put in freezer

I so easily go towards perfectionism sometimes - re: buckwheat crepes - like other dishes at times - I make the job too big because I want to do it perfectly (then I put it off).
It's okay not to have a fancy vegetarian meal - it can just be a salad. remember that.
when I do this I won't cook anything because I think I have to do that meal that night. It's not real.

tomorrow am:
make the banana bread/apple bread before heading out for d friends coffee time. dd younger did this
my kitchen is clean because I made the prep and majority of cooking this am.
dh/dd olders chicken is made and I will freeze the chicken breast individually.

dinner tomorrow: tsinmes page 157 ina garten cooking for jeffery (make when home from d friend)
two dips: cannellini bean dip (jacques pepin) and beet horseradish dip (jamie oliver) with raw veggies (prep when I come home)

dd/dh - ???? meat??? (thinking ham sandwiches with dijon - dh swiss - thin thin slice for dd older so it doesn't bother , sautéed onion (I can make that early) (I need Hawaiian rolls for this) (prep easy and put in oven when they want to eat).

we have left overs we will use tonight - w my arm being in a sling i couldn't make the dip

tonight since its the oscars we will use the veggie and dips - deviled eggs and mini ham swiss, sautéed onion, dijon baked sandwiches

While houseguests were here the only supper dd38 and I worked on from scratch was spaghetti (two different sauces to choose, marinara and her meat sauce) with garlic bread and a big tossed salad. But when we had oriental take-out my mung bean sprouts were greatly appreciated.

For HRH and I yesterday after everyone but dstepson was gone, just a simple spaghetti with pesto sauce, and for dstepson the leftover of dd38's meat sauce. Nice for the 3 of us to just have a calm-down meal, lol.

With repairmen in the house right now, I won't make plans and will stay flexible instead.

We have here a jimmie johns sandwiches, blessed, though probably less than a year since I've even heard of it. Sorry you didn't feel well.

well thank you d harriet! I have been getting little giggles from dd younger and dh as they see me trying to fiddadle (spelling) through my day.

it's nice that you had company and what a nice way to make dinner - where everyone got to choose :D lovely

tonight i am making rachel rays crab fehttuchini - i like fish
but yesterday i tried eating the Salisbury steak - beef doesn't taste good anymore so i think i will continue my veggie journey but add fish once in awhile

tomorrow simple as cutting things hurts my arm
i have soup defrosting
