The bracelet is beautiful...you did a great job, MT!

Emptynester, dd12 wants me to ask what kind of wire is that and what did you use to work it (pliers-type tool I guess she is thinking - frankly she knows more about handmade jewelry than me). She says to tell you if she saw that at a craft fair she would buy it, and it looks better than a lot she has seen for sale by people who do it all the time. This makes twice in this thread that I'll say blue is probably my favorite color. I think the blue of the bracelet really looks lovely. Also dd says to post that Emptynester has a cool house. :)

Here, ds26 went in to look at the houses quilt today and really liked it, does not think it is too baby-ish for a 3 year old, was amused at how it morphed into something more and more perfectionist. I keep plugging along on it, me and my trusty seam-ripper, almost to the bottom "hill".

Sunny, are you still contemplating a flying-geese idea?

Yesterday made great progress on attaching the brown granny squares in to strips yea!
So glad to be working on this.

Now I'm trying to decide what colors to finish out the green one with.

Dgd has her's 3/4ths of the squares in strips now too.

EN lovely bracelet!
Do you hair bobbles too?

Thank you for all the kudos on the bracelet. It didn't take any creativity - just wire and beads.

Here are the before and after shots of the bark carving. I call it a gnome house. The step by step pictures are on my blog along with all the projects we finished this week.

Hmm. Isn't that pretty much the definition of creativity? Just take some wire and beads (or hook and yarn, or needle and fabric, or your medium of choice) and convert them into something beautiful.

I love that color of blue, too.

Wow great pics!

I got the yarn I needed to finish up the last green granny square yesterday.
So this week I can begin attaching them together.

Completed at sewing retreat:
(need to ask DH to bring camera home from work so I can take photos)
* Insulated tote bag for taking lunch to work.
* Extremely simple ruffled scarf from a long strip fabric and a yard of clear elastic.
* 3 child's aprons for area agency's art classes.

Also did various pre-assembly steps for several more aprons and book bags for the same agency, and studied a couple of patterns for personal projects.

Doesn't sound like much for 3 days, but there were only 2 of us on the committee running the retreat and we had to do all of the cooking as well. Just being surrounded by sewing friends with their projects was a great time. :D
