I am allowing myself some sidetracking today, researching how families made bare-basic quilts for soldiers during the War between the States. Dsil would like one to take on re-enactment weekends, but when bought ready-made (homemade from re-enactment vendors) they are usually very small and expensive, and these guys are actually sleeping/sitting in authentic tents, (a serious reality in the cold weather or rain), so utility, warmth and washability are the point. I already see some ways to make one look more accurate than the ready-made ones I see offered. If I do this for him, it would HAVE to be a quickie project - I'm overwhelmed with UFOs
If you don't believe in miracles, you're not being realistic.
