DNancy, Our Ddil is a pharmacy tech. She gives me tips all the time. Once, I showed her my dried, cracked, red, chapped, irritated wintry hands. She said if you get Neosporin, put it onto your hands at bedtime, then put on white cotton gloves, you can get for cheap in the drug store sections of stores, and go to bed that way, the Neosporin heals them, overnight. I tried it, my hands were like new by morning. It was amazing! Also, the bacterial pump cleaners, which people use a lot of, can do this to hands. They say, also, when you wash your hands--- to PAT, not rub them dry. If you pat your hands dry, they don't get as irritated. I'm in WA State, too, so perhaps it's a winter thing or a thing to do with our climates or with our heating in the winter? I use Lubriderm, lotion from Costco. There is a lotion or cream in a jar, called Eucerin, which is good, too. I've also, heard about people using Bag Balm, on their hands, to protect their hands. Farmers use it on cows' udders and also, nursing mothers use it to make their nipples more strong and less sore and tender, from nursing. You might want to try these other methods I've heard about, too. I know how miserable dry, red, sore, cracked hands can be. :(

Yes, Booksaver, the left side being affected did not interfere with my crochet that year. I was so fortunate in that respect. :)

I have something going on with my left eye, the Urgent Care Dr. called my ophthalmologist and it sounded like, to my specialist, like it's a detached retina starting. I "NEED" to crochet some items, for DGD-2 and DGS-6-in-Feb.! :!: I'm half-way done with a tunic and Empire dress for DGD, but need to get some snakes crocheted for DGS. He has 1 hat done and she has 1 dress done. I felt that Super Bowl Sunday gives me an excellent opportunity to get things done and part of next week, in case they do surgery. I'd love to be able to deal with the stress or whatever you call it, puzzlement, (?), if I crochet as a form of escape, as I get things done productively.
