Art, Craft and Needlework, June 2015

Postby Harriet » Mon Jun 01, 2015 8:04 am

We're at a transition time for the seasons, great for outdoor projects like Kathryn has been doing for her decks. Will you be heading inside more often for a respite from the weather soon? What creativity awaits you in June?

In May, Sunny posted photos of her clever new quilt top, under construction!
Now she gets to enjoy the quilting process.
BookSaver posted a link to bright ways to make sewn potholders.
She's considering her sewing group time, and decisions on her dmil's sewing room.
Nancy is knitting a surprise pink and blue baby blanket.
Twins' Mom has been thinking graduation cards and gotten new supplies.

The surprize blanket is nearing completion to big to be very portable so I started a graped colored prayer shawl with some cable patterns in it, I am learning cables now yea! Love new options this brings as I learn in the aran fisherman style knit pattern.

Also started a crocheted doll aka yarn baby.

I may have an opportunity to get a Union rug loom if one other gal does not want it. I have wanted one for ever! Do I need it? Probably not lol!
No worries I am not going to stress over it.

Here's a finished object, a cat for my newest (8yo) niece. She could not decide if she wanted a brown or a white cat, so I made the obvious solution. It is based on a Care Bear pattern, which has also done duty as a dog and a rabbit. Next, that same pattern is going to become a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle for my nephew to be born September.
