The balloons with a single glow-dot (like a glow stick) inside them were a sensibly-priced purchase (Target) that allowed the decorated room to be "lit" from the corners overhead, where we hung them, 2 at a time. With the big carved pumpkin on the table, lit by a tea-light inside, we were able to turn out the dining room light and guests were delighted to walk in to the dark-but-glowing room. When dd actually started serving, she turned the lights up. By today, some of the glo-dots have gone dark, but the balloons still look decorative.

giving dh his list for tips for helpers of our home services - I pay some, he pays some.

Today pulling down Halloween around the house.

I just watched a video from a woman talking about her planning process for Thanksgiving. She is offering a free set of forms as a download, and she shows each form on the video in case you aren't comfortable downloading and just want to draft your own form.

I've watched some of her other videos in the past and she appears very down to earth.
Her channel is called Suttons Daze. Here is the link to this Thanksgiving planning video:

I won't be hosting our family meal this year, but this video reminded me that I need to shop for groceries to make the dishes we will be taking to the pot lucks. 2 week warning! :)

Made up card and tip for mail woman - I give it to her early as she has a family. i just have to watch for her to make sure the right person gets it. dh said not to but I have given a tip every year to our regular mail person.

A step toward getting cards done - dd is well on her way to having an illustration for them. This will be a by-product of her efforts to help with adding to the postponed church children's event, to take it from Thanksgiving to a more Christmas-y event.

Much serious thought here about buying an artificial tree.
Negatives - where will we store it, and, of course, will it be worth the money?
Positives - easy to put up. No drying saggy tree, worry of water on floor, or allergy worry.

Definitely have the tradition of a real tree here. Would have to wrap our minds around this.
