holiday grand plan 2020

Postby blessedw2 » Tue Oct 27, 2020 7:03 am

Covid has made the holiday's a bit unpredictable but you can have a lovely holiday by being prepared.

what baby steps are you doing to make your holiday a bright light in your year.
I haven't seen my daughter in a year and with covid I don't know if I will see her for the holidays but I can still make her and our holiday wonderful.
not a 10 Christmas but a meaningful Christmas
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I know - covid has caused our family to rethink things.
Dh doesn't want to go to thanksgiving as it is everybody but she is getting a tent - its up to 40 people know
I bought a face shield and will wear a mask as well.
it's hard.

My goal today is to wrap the presents I have.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

My plan is not so grand this year simplifying it.
I am clearing off a surface for and re-thinking it a bit for decor this year.
Brought up a few of the decor items.

Next up work on clearing off the table.
One last gift & card to make out & get off in the mail.

I have my clothes set out for Dec. Holiday themes on these.

I need to add my books on my list & wool on the to buy list.
I am not going to any stores for Black Fri. This is not new for me I did this other years too.

Dgd wanted to help decorate so I will get totes and items ready.
I have more gift bags I can seam up.

Tree us 18" tall and up.

Got a plan for my 100 days faith journal to start in Dec. Verses to write in it.

After my spill the small tabletop tree went flying so I had to put the lights back on it.
I got the holly print cloth on the buffet for a fun Dec. decor flair.
The stable is out but still in the cloth bag, I have the creche upstair in the box but it needs to come to the living room from the kitchen.
Saving my steps so that task was one that had to wait.

Definitely not a normal holiday season. I almost had a panic attack putting up my tree this evening. And I felt so much better when Dh hit home that it kinda scared me — I didn’t realize I was that dependent on him. I don’t know what we will be doing this year with extended family either, and with ddil and dsisil both working as nurses, who knows what even our close family will be doing?
Tomorrow is another day.

Holiday Grand Plan 2020

Postby Nancy » Sun Nov 29, 2020 1:03 pm

I did a rbr picking up two or three things from each of the main rooms, it looks better without a lot of effort.
I was quite surprised.
I miss hubby's apprectiaion of my efforts even if I said
"Tell me the yard looks better you do not have to get up."
It was good to hear it.
But what it comes down to is I am doing this for me because I like to see the decor up.

There is still a need to have food in the freezer this year.
My neighbor commented that is was so much more peaceful with a smaller gathering on Thanksgiving she appreciated it.

I will be focusing on faith in the Cmas season.
Cmas next I am ready for it except one card and gift.
Cmas is usually quiet here I am thinking a game hen & stuffing.

New Years I need to think about dealing with the noise of fireworks that bother the dog.

I don't really expect company this holiday. I don't know about traveling either. What I'm doing, I'm doing for me. DH could do without a lot of holiday stuff around, though he likes when I do it all. He always wants me to leave the tree up way past Christmas.

Outside lights done.
Yesterday I got the one special card we send out and I picked up a box of really pretty cards, nicer than the ones I got on sale after the holiday last year.

So much 'zone' work done around here a quick pickup and wipe around puts it all back in order. Glad for that this holiday, but it's been an awful lot of work.
