Art, Craft and Needlework, September, 2021

Postby Harriet » Thu Sep 02, 2021 12:06 am

What's on your calendar for creative endeavors? Anyone thinking of holiday plans as in Grand? Nancy was considering Christmas in July. If holiday plans turn out to be the same as most years, what will your priorities be. Or, if holiday plans turn out to be muted, modest because of a less social time in all our lives, will you use extra time for different creative projects, or maybe have time for bigger Art, Craft and Needlework ideas?

I have fall decor out and ready to go up I have not quite decided on how I will do that yet.
Might be considering gifts in a jar or bag.
I have sorted books & journals sm. Size mini happy planners.

I need to make up one more puppet to go as a gift.
And one or two red gift bags to seam up.

I have an old quilt that needs to be upcycled.
Journaling to do.

I am prepping for the time change and some sewing projects to do after it goes back
To standard time. Got fabric that says the joy of the Lord is my strength.
Got another cone of cotton yarn for projects. White orange & yellow reminds me of candy corn.
I have started a puppet.

Pre shrunk fabrics.
Filled some fabric gift bags in red white and green print I made in previous years with dish cloths.
I am working on prepping fabric to seam up for bags and have four red ones ready to seam up next.

Yea! For Harriet having a sewing craft room.

Working on organizing all my sewing things into their spaces here in sewing/office room. Stored my grandmother's sewing machine in the closet by shuffling around some of the project containers, etc. Got the second window's valance up. There's a large storage container in the LR marked "sewing desk". I hesitate to think. Oh, brother. Don't know if that large a container's contents can really be held by the desk and so I figure there's a lot in there that won't have a place.

I'm glad there's a sewing room/office, Harriet! Moving always takes forever to get settled back in. I still have things that I sat down when we moved in, and thought I'll find a more permanent/better place later, and here I am nine years later. You'll get the important things done. I feel for you.

I am happy to say that I found a SEWING PLANNER is was at Joann's by the Happy Planner Co. A disc. Bound one!
I am SO excited, I can put yarn, weaving & art projects in it as well. Such a better focus for me than other things.
With the days getting shorter here and day lite savings time ending this is perfect the time for me to ramp up my activity in the sewing room!

Getting requests from the family for more patchwork bookmarks. Don't know how i would get around to it in the state we're in.

Making interior "sidelight" curtains for the cabinet that used to be upstairs but is now very evident to visitors. I want the contents visibly blocked.
