I'm usually pretty comfortable with the length of most "average" length pants. I had ordered a pair of pants I liked but had to send them back because the "stride" was too short. I exchanged them for a "tall", cut away 2.5 inches of length, then hemmed them with a simple machined hem and they fit very nicely. So much so I'm thinking of ordering another pair.
