Re: Basic Weekly budget: my may progress

May 2014 is done... overwhelming!!! eye opening, depressing, enlightening, frustrating - I had a basic budget... went over by a lot, my budget especially in the food department. May was a very long month for finances. 1/2 year taxes got paid - no holiday money was saved - no buffer was saved because we used our buffer.

Re: Basic Weekly budget - September

Postby blessedw2 » Wed Sep 03, 2014 8:43 am

I wanted to see how I would do without listing things etc.

1. I ended up not knowing what was in my checking
2. I have no idea what I spent and it gave me a sense of chaos which I don't care for
3. I had no goals and thus no savings or budget and spent money I didn't have

Goal for sept. get back on track daily

Re: Basic Weekly budget October 2014

Postby blessedw2 » Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:17 am

Oct: basic budget in place
paid my visa, dd youngers visa and am back to keeping my checking account balance - it is too easy to throw a receipt from debit card transactions into my purse rather than automatically subtracting the $ amount from my checking account but I found that I didn't like the chaos of not being aware exactly was in my account.

pluses: I no longer carry a credit card with me as I have been living on my cash I have for the month.

October 4.. impulse problem again reared its not so pretty head. I went to the hallmark store and found a couple ornaments and a halloween item that cost 39.00 (not planned) (my plan was to get dd younger and her roommate a couple things for a care package)

also instead of baking ahead of time for football outing I bought things at fancy le pastry shop ala expensive

Oct 7 (for 5/6)
Paid for cleaners, shipping place, dinner, starbucks,
had to pay for new dryer - not happy about that
today: starbucks, hardware store (60$ geesh), dh filled 4 wheel gussler that I have been driving (so it had to go on my debit card - not sure what the dollar amount is yet. )

Oct 9: ate out with dkids at cheese cake factory... $90
Oct 9: paid for dd youngers taxi to the airport (from school) $90 wow
Oct 9: paid $200 - dd older is working on classes and is working off that amount at our house (things that I can't do)

Oct 10: $10 tip for men that moved the new dryer in and the old dryer out
Oct 10: bought both girls jackets, pants, (2 places), plus part of a costume for Halloween
Oct 11: out to dinner with girls
Oct. 11: starbucks
Oct 11 borrowed money to dd younger to buy cloths... she will pay me tomorrow (paid back all but a small amount because I offered to leave off a little bit)
Oct 12 starbucks
Oct 12 buying pumpkins for everyone $57
Oct 12 gave dd younger money so she would have cash at school
Oct. 13 Starbucks
Oct 13 grocery store $83
Oct play tickets... why I do this when I don't have money I never will know (Christmas plays) - I think it is me trying to always reach that 10 christmas
Oct. 13 car repairs 870.00 charged
Oct 13 cleaners $47
Oct. 14 cat food etc. 11.60 charged
Oct 15 is bill reality day ;)
moving garage sale to next Saturday as we have more stuff than we thought.
Oct 15 starbucks 4.78
Oct 15 Foodstuffs $60 pre made food.... very $ not worth it.. I need to cook again even if it is just for me
wow a whole 10 days went by and I didn't list anything - this is how I get in trouble
Oct 25 starbucks - stressed w news about dd youngers health -
Oct 26 $$$$ to the firm that is putting in my drain tile
Oct 27 $$$$$ for the construction company fixing my bathroom (deposit)
Oct 27 $$$ tile for bathroom, starbuck's $5

my money has not been put in my savings account yet and I have tons of people to pay to get necessary work done..ceiling is leaking in kitchen and the ceiling needs venting.

what I keep doing.. wanting to Spoil myself - mmm I have to watch that
