Thanks for starting this thread early, Nancy.

I confess that I have wandered astray from looking at my box every day. However, routines for 2010 are changing starting this week. I think the easiest way to accomplish those changes will be to add/edit cards in the box.

Gotta love those 3x5 cards!

The first week of the new year we have two birthdays.
So I have cards to fill out.
Gift to wrap / bag up.
Clothes to figure out what to wear for the party.
New Years menu is figured out.
Just the two of us for that I think this year.

My bwp [basic weekly plan] did a fruit basket upset when hubby retired,
and then again after I had a health crisis in 07.
I've revamped it over the years and now have a list I just check stuff
off as I can get to it and seems to work pretty good.
I just moved stuff around as needed love the freedom it gives!
It took longer when I was ill than it does now.

Now I just need the mojo to get on task with it!
New Years Menu planning is on deck for my list!

Nancy, I can appreciate the chaos! I just tried to file my cards, what a nightmare! I can't hardly understand what I just filed, let alone get in to a routine with these! Oh my, I'm going to have to tweek, tweek, tweek. I might need to keep my 9 different BWP's on a separate sheet of paper so I can see it all at once! At least I followed my first "weekly" card today! Been a long time waiting. We have been in and out of remodeling in one form or another for the past 6 yrs. As a "homemaker" I have been really out of joint with not much of a home to speak of. But we are in a whole house now, all functioning! So, trying to get that box in shape before New Year's eve!
I am reviving the box in my life after many, many years out of the box, doing lists, journals and trying to "fly".

I just love the flexability of the box and one or a group of a few chores seems so much
more do-able especially when I'm stressed or in a hurry.
It's easier for me to just focus on one room or the next 15 min. to one hour of what to do.
Stuff changes so quickly around here I need to be more flexible,
yesterday was a great example dd called and needed us to watch the grands just
after lunch I'd just cleaned it and had to start over for their lunch but was happy to
see them and it worked out great and then I cleaned up the kitchen again after they ate.
Dgson was able to find a place to keep his battleship game here a couple of days
b/c I'd cleared the surface of the china hutch earlier in the month!

Awesome job Nancy and Brigadoon!!!!

I haven't had a basic weekly plan since november/thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. thanks for the reminder to get back on track.

my weeklies are really bi weeklys on one page I print instead of cards (I fold it into my card file)
I write the date next to the item done and keep the form on my computer to print two weeks later

monthly: still have to add again.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

january 2 already.

dd20 is home.
saturday: dd20 has lunch out with her friend !!!
I am going to let the dd14 and dd20 have time together as they seem to really enjoy it. I get to have time with our girls and it makes me happy.

turns out the girls went shopping together and then called me for lunch... so nice. then dd14 came with me and dd20 went out later with friend. and then she is going down town with a different friend. She goes back again tomorrow. but its so nice to just have that time together.

alrighty I am behind my homework. dh went to the store.

Glad to read the dd 20 is home and that the girls are enjoying time together.
Family time is SO important!

I'm thinking about getting a few chores done so I can check them off.
It feels great and if I do just 2-3 I'm not feeling so overwhelmed!
