March Cards 2010

What are your focus cards for March?
Birthdays anniversaries and other celebrations?
Gardening begins for some this month and lawn care too.

Animal care is a biggie for us for March. We order the flea meds then, for instance. Also there are outdoor chores for the henhouse.

Today is dstepgd's bday. We gave her money and a movie. Later in the month is ds24's 25th bday. A quarter of a century. Good grief!

How do you guys handle bdays on the cards? Do you have a card in each month with bdays on it? Do you have cards for time to buy bday cards, etc?

One-time cards are getting done around here well. Tax-related and papertaming-related things accomplished and cards turned or tossed.

I am happy that several "on my mind" things are handled.

I am making some new outdoor cards - maintenance. But we haven't really gotten around to lawnmower weather yet like you have, Nancy.

Looking around for blessed to come and turn cards! :)

Nancy you are faithful posting here. I miss blessed's posts and I'm glad Harriet has joined in.

As you know I don't use cards but use the concept.

For birthday, anniversary, special cards I have them marked on my planner calendar. Hallmark had a card box at one time. There are dividers for each month. On the face of the divider I have listed the birthdays there is a space for special occasions and a column for days to remember. An example for October I have all birthdays listed (name and date) and for special occasions I have Halloween so I remember to send cards to dgnieces. I don't use the days to remember column for days to remember I use it to send a special card to my daunt, dmil, dsisils (3), dgnieces (2 soon to be 4), etc.

Next there are dividers for Thank you/Contratulations, Wedding/Baby/Anniversary, Just Because, Birthday, Sympathy, and care/Concern.

I get the cards ahead of time (every 3 months) and have a stash of a few cards in each of the special dividers.

My cards are cyber cards that I use these days.
St. Patrick's day is next week.
Thinking of healthy green foods we can eat how about you doing any thing
special for St. Pats day?

Hubby's bday is later on in the month also so will be hoping
for nice weather so we can have a cook out for that.

I remember the Hallmark box I think. Also seem to remember a Hallmark file-folder thingie during a promotion they were running - buy 5 cards get a file for the year or something. Also my parents used to get a calendar from some local utility company that had the calendar date part printed onto the folded-up bottom of the long calendar page, making it into a pocket (month's photo was at top of page as usual). The suggestion was that you put things to mail into the pocket and note them on the dates of the calendar in front. I've not seen calendars like that in a long time. That could be easily made, of course. Hmmm ... ...

Still, having a 3x5 to turn for each month with bdays on it helps to prepare for whatever system you might come up with. Either for first day of month or, better, for last day of previous month.
