THE 'SOMEDAY' CARD

Postby DeeClutter » Thu Sep 02, 2010 11:16 am

Sadie posted the following on Wednesday:
Also have challenged myself to do one extra thing, one of those someday things that never gets done. So did some mending one day, changed out curtains in two rooms another. It's a long list of someday things but it's good to get some of them done.

What if we have a thread to post those 'someday' things to do and perhaps give a deadline or a whole list of someday things and check them off -perhaps with the date? Would it motivate us to do those little extra things that only take us minutes (usually) but we tend to overlook or ignore.

I did one of those 'someday' things yesterday and now I can't even think what it was!

Aha! Found what it was -posted in yesterday's PWYC thread:
Off to straighten our bookcase. Want to put books in topic order. Probably won't take me 10 minutes, but it's one of those things that's always in the 'future'. And the FUTURE is NOW!

So here's my thought/example -perhaps you can expound on it and maybe we'll even make some progress with those little seen projects?

9/1/10 -Clean/organize bookcase
9/4/10 -Clean pile of VHS, etc, next to tall dresser in bedroom
9/4/10 -Clean off left side of my dresser
9/4/10 -Clean off the right side of my dresser
9/3/2010 -Clean off top of DH's dresser

Even if it's only for me, it's some accountability.

Cool -glad you like this, Blessedw2.

Well, I KNOW what today's 'someday' thing will be -it's to clean off the top of dh's dresser  . He came in a few minutes ago to ask ("Oh no! What do I have to look for now?!! :!:  ) if I knew where an arm band phone holder (he bought in FL) might be. He looked in his closet, I looked in a drawer and THEN started taking things off his dresser top. Found it! That was good, but I was staring at the dust and jumble and decided that I would get to this 'someday' thing TODAY! So I've started taking things off and putting them on the bed. It'll make me feel good to have at least that project done today.

Hmmm....well that worked -finished being able to check those 5 spots off as done. Now to look around and find 5 more. There's certainly more around here.

I've been thinking "some day" I need to take out the rocks on this mini path;
well some day happened and we did that last week! Got grass transplanted where
those rocks were. Grass is much softer on the feet and more level too!

Adding "check fence lines" on the farm to this is now done!
Now livestock but we did find some tree damage so hubby
now has said that "someday" he needs to get a non electric chain saw.
