I gave the kitchen counters a bit of attention yesterday and that made a world of difference in less time than I thought it would take. Got the sinks cleaned earlier in the day. Today stayed on top of that yea for progress.

Today dining room table needs attn.

It's trash day card here yesterday I got the trash emptied and hubby did shredding got it out to the curb. This one goes in the day before to be ready the next day.

Harriet you mentioned laundry I used to do 2 tubs a day during the week when the kids were home that was four of us here at that time hope you find a schedule that works for you & yours.

When something works, study it. You can repeat excellence only if you understand how it happened the first time. Marcus Buckingham

I was thinking about that "when something works, repeat it", Nancy.

The laundry rotation card couldn't be working better for me. I did go with little dates down a post-it strip beside the load names. I can see exactly where I am in my rotation of the 7 main loads and the 4 mini loads. It is so easy - on days I can't do laundry, like Monday when we went out of town, it's no problem. Tuesday, I could see exactly where I left off (glancing at one card - not rummaging through baskets, or trusting my memory!!!) and just do the next load. On days like today, when there will be time, I can plan to do both the main load that's up and also get the next mini load done. Today was so clear to me - wash the towels, wash reds. TaDa!

It's so nice to be consistently on target with clean clothes/linens for each person.

I will be looking for ways I can repeat this success!

H. gets it ready the night before and I roll it out to the curb. This is working pretty well for us. Harriet - I hace a monthly check list I use.
I have items to tick off or write how many loads of laundry I do, plus tick off bed sheet changes and lounge cover changes. If I get out of sinc combining towel and sheet changes I have added Towels to the sheet line and mark a T when I do them, but mostly they will fit in with sheets in summer. winter sheets and kitchen teatowels are a load by themselves, towels go in with clothing and smaller clothing loads. Unless theres a special need I just wash all the clothes in a mixed load - unless I havent washed for a bit and there is enough to sort into loads. I like the 1/2 size basket. When its full thats a load.
I know - family living creates perhaps a week of my washing in a day so there is easier / more need to sort.

I'm trying to get back to some daily routines that used be helpful, and if I could get back to doing one cleaning job daily that would be good. I also still have sticker cards I fill up ( hopefully) but I have joined several tasks together on some I've already filled both side of the card and thats not working as well as I hoped. The sticker cards may have had their day - or maybe I start again with just a few of basics like those that were mentioned in the don't break the link thread.
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
