How are your cards going for Aug.
What's on your docket this month?
Any new ones to add or focus on?

I have a couple of birthdays this month
that is different;
and hubby has been asking what I want to do for
mine next month so I need to get some ideas down
about that.

I've been working on the front walk and in front of the house
I was also noticing that the patio needs swept
and there are bees around so will need to look for
a nest.

It's hot 105* is the predicted high temp. for today
so we are inside hiding from the heat.

I've swept the kitchen and dining room traffic areas.

Have been fighting a summer cold so
have not been up to par this week.

We also did a room-by-room here. Gives me clues about the new one-time cards I need to make out, for things that I realize need more attention as I clean the room.

I have spaced out my parents' appointments so that I have one per day. Calling back to offices to change if I need to in order to keep them spaced and not drive myself crazy. Have every day through Friday of next week covered except for Thursday the 13th, when I plan to take dd10 on a shopping trip! I hope it works out - she deserves it.

We had to use bee-killer on a scary yellow-jacket nest, Nancy. Hate that chore but no choice. Bad news. You be careful when you find a nest!

Safe travel wishes for blessed and family. Have fun!

Have not had time to look for the nest
luckily we are not allergic to bees here.

The house is in need of attn.
but I've been out with hubby fishing
got more berries in the deep freezer today yea!
Love that!
8-)

It was only 98* here today
got above the 93* they had predicted
but at least it was a bit more tolerable.

Apples are almost done now.

Plugging away at the kitchen has been paying off.
Cooler weather here for a few days.

Question re: cards. How do you split up your weeklies among the days of the week? I'm finding that I'm naturally grouping my weeklies sort of geographically; I'm wondering if I should have my cards marked (by colors? I've run out of colors though. .) by location in the house. For example, upstairs, downstairs, living areas, outside, and currently kids bedrooms seem to be a category of its own.

helia, as you think of color grouping ideas, remember you can experiment. You can use either those little color post-it flags or color paperclips on your existing cards until you find a system you like.

Splitting up weeklies - I use grouped cards. I don't know if you do that or individual cards like so many here. Both are great, and I know with individual cards you get more satisfaction from refiling, plus you can instantly see good use for a limited time slot that may come up. Anyway, I group geographically. Sometimes that can be a problem when you're getting out supplies more often (for instance, vacuum comes out for a bedroom one day and right back out for a living area the next, etc). But generally it keeps me focused and moving in a rotation through the house. The concept "Rotation" is important for me right now because I am being interrupted so much more than ever before and if I assign days, then miss them, it can be discouraging. If I'm rotating, I don't see a missed weekly as a failure for my Wednesday, or whatever. I just see it as something moved forward in rotation.
