Good morning everyone! I am dragging due to @#$%!!! daylight savings time. I want to stay on the summer time plan forever. Sunday, I had the double whammy of DD16 volunteering for youth led service and having to be there at 8 instead of 930 + DST. Some stuff that got done over the weekend: LR pick up and floor clean, library returns, bill pay, checkbook balance, groceries, gasoline, minutes for animal org, cooking for next two weeks, all laundry put away, and (cue that Hallelujah Chorus here) clipped Briggs' claws! There is still much to do on LR pickup and some decluttering inside the desk and vanity. My Mardi Gras Barbie is on display on my filing cabinet. I did not get the hardware store done or the paperwork.
This is another final week for DD, but that means she will have Wednesday and Thursday off. She requested Thursday be with me, because her schedule has resulted in some missed mom time. And the time she had was spent studying. I have the vacation time and it has been approved. She came by this morning to find her lost cell phone, but we were unsuccessful. The first dark day of DST and she has to wait at the bus stop with no phone. I think it is at her dad's house.
There is less war between the two remaining cats, but it is not necessarily a good thing. The trainer at the animal org annual meeting recommended I put an adoption clinic style crate in my house to get Briggs used to it. It is in the kitchen and he is spending a lot of time on top of the cabinets to avoid it. Lara is happy because that frees my bed for her.
Part of DD's homework included getting a quote. She chose one from Hedy Lamarr, because I had told her that, despite being more known as an actress, in the digital signal processing world, she is considered an inventor. Her quote was "Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid." Later I found one that would have probably been better: "Films have a certain place in a certain time period. Technology is forever."
Today, I have already uploaded a report to production, gotten clarification on other pending modifications, and planned my next work.
Kathryn's W&R have my sympathies. Apartment/dorm life is so miserable. I wonder if the neighbor is on mental disability due to autism. His extreme sound sensitivity could be part of the spectrum. DD16 has that, but manages with headsets and earplugs. While she can attest to what a pain the tailbone it is to need them around the house, if he is going to live in an apartment, he'd better start adapting. Or move. W&R need to keep a record on him, with details of time, what was going on (e.g. walked into LR or sat on a sofa), and words he used or actions performed (wall banging), also his music blasting. Then he can have a visit from the police, especially if he ever seems threatening. Don't know if the landlord could be sued. Serve him right though.
