Thank you so much, bw2! It is a small holiday you know, it only gained recognition because of its proximity to Christmas. We will light candles tonight probably with the local Jewish community on Zoom but that will be it. Both of our kids will come tomorrow night, I don't know how long ds will stay but he's coming.

I have eye appt today and a round of errands.

Gotta get moving!

By the way, I love "Don't let the lights go out!" Several years ago Peter Yarrow performed at a big Jewish convention that I attended. It's always held in late Nov - early Dec and of course he performed "Don't let the lights go out."

Blessings, Twins, on the first day of Hannukkah.

Dh is back from his walk. Proud of him that he's made this a habit every morning. He is having a bit of trouble breathing in this cooler weather however. His gloves that were supposed to arrive last Thursday finally arrived last night.

Have to remember that I have a lab appointment for 1:30 today. Going to 'try' once again to get the urinalysis done. It was supposed to be a 'culture' when they did it last Tuesday. However, they only did a routine urinalysis instead. Hopefully this will be done today and it will come back negative.

how cool that you were able to be part of that event!
My d mom and I went to a concert for Peter Paul and Mary at Ravinia years ago.

I knew, a little. that it was a smaller holiday - it makes sense that I would correlate it being close to Christmas.(my dear work friends were always so generous in invited all the women over during the holiday for lunch - so many great memories for me - it was so special for me that I still think of those women each Hanukkah). thank you so much for sharing!!!

you are such a special person that, I and I know everyone, wanted to wish you so much happiness and joy!!!
Enjoy the zoom event tonight and your family tomorrow night. Much love to you!

hello d dee and d cathy!
so cool about your dh taking a walk every morning! good for him! aren't you in Florida? I thought you went down there every year?

I have to get my act together.
I have a focus (lol right now - but you know how that goes).
d dog is sleeping again - dropping her off at day care. - then we go back to 3 hours a day while christmas is going on.

found out dd younger is not coming in until the 20th. (I am worried about her being in the airport (not the plane) with covid - for us and for her).

hope to see you soon!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good Morning!

I woke up and instantly knew something was different. I feel like myself again! I have no clue what has been going on with my body the last few days but I'm thankful the feeling of being superly fatigued has passed.

Today is homeschool, charter school, and delivering food for the funeral for a DFriend parent. We won't attend the funeral but will take food for the family that is gathering.

Next up = AM routine

Happy Hanukkah!

We are in FL, Blessed, but the temps the last few days have been quite cool (cold for us). It's been in lower 40's and frost warnings were up last night. And I will pray for your dd's safety. Even in the airports they're practicing pretty good protocol. Seats are closed off and people have to sit apart and line up apart. So, hopefully she'll be as safe there as in the plane. I was in a wheelchair & I noted that even those were spaced apart while we waited to board.

My dd is coming to drop off her car today and because she doesn't want to use public transit to get home, I am loaning her my car. I tried to get all of my errands finished yesterday. Did a huge Costco run, including paper towels. Went and bought gifts that we are giving to corporate customers. (4 bottles of rye from the distillery just north of us and 1 bottle of red wine from the winery across the street. Talk about "shop local"! )

Garbage and recycling have been dealt with. Maids came yesterday, so the house is clean and almost tidy. Island is absolutely covered in dh's keto diet stuff. I also moved the toaster over to the island, so now the bread and butter live there as well. Now there are 2 large glass canisters where the toaster used to be. One has sugar and the other has tea bags. The electric kettle is there and has been for 5 years.

Dh is out right now, so I just wrapped his 2 large gifts. (Instant pot and an air fryer/toaster oven.) Every time we go into Canadian Tire or Walmart, he always stops as we pass the instant pots and asks if I want one and I always say no. Obviously he wants one, so he's getting one. I will be asking for "recipes" from all of you who do have one after Christmas.

No idea what is for supper.
