Re: Make my day, Monday!!
Well I looked at the battery and it has a small amount of crossion on it I have seen worse, I wiggled it bui still now power. I will call the place
[I got the battery in the spring.] Tomorrow I have other things I was going to do so will wait on having them come to jump it. I did ask about that when I bought it just to know.
It is wet raining and snow is 99% gone here now. It will be warmer the rest of the week.
Trying to decide what to cook up for dinner too many choices! LOL!
It is time to pay attention to the laundry, and start the next load in the dryer.
I got the spring stuff put in suit cases and that freed up some room to put away winter stuff I did one 10 min. round of that this morning.
Got the laundry folded.
Dinner was good.
Did the dishes.

Re: Make my day, Monday!!
The kids were lukewarm when I told them our Christmas Break starts now. They were mentally prepared to work on assignments all week. They actually discussed whether they should continue to work. DD9 wants to do the weekly zoom meeting with the teacher tomorrow (it is optional). It feels like I'm whining but the anticipation to a happy event is part of the process. I'm sure we will get over it in a short time.
I gave Micro a quick bath tonight. He has an appt with the groomer tomorrow but he couldn't wait. It was bad. I will never let him go this long between grooming appointments again. I thought since it was cold that I would let his hair grown out to keep him warmer. Nope. It is absolutely necessary for him to have regular hair cuts.

Re: Make my day, Monday!!
You can remind them, LadyM, that a lot of kids in b&m schools got an unexpected break starting today, too. I think my dgrands may have some virtual assignments to do this week, and again the first week of January, but they are home an extra two weeks for this Christmas holiday.
Of course, they don't mind -- even though they both LOVE school. They are excited because we are going to College Town tomorrow -- dh and dgs are going to the ballgame and since we only have two tickets, dgd and I are just tagging along for the ride, LOL. We are looking forward to eating at our favorite bar-b-que restaurant on the way. (It doesn't take a lot to entertain us, LOL!)
And that second side goes sooo quickly, it seems.
LadyM -- I am also so impressed with the work ethic of your dd & ds! They say that THOUSANDS of kids in our state have simply disappeared from the school rolls this year. They aren't logging in to virtual and they aren't showing up in b&m, and apparently it is hard to track if they have moved or what has happened to cause this huge drop in enrollment. Look at this -- it's unbelievable.

BTW -- I would love to have a gazebo with a moat and a drawbridge.
Wonder if I could hire these two builders...
Thanks for the encouragement on my unexpected progress today!
It somehow hit me that there was no need for me to have separate days for LAUNDRY and WHB.
Laundry has me up on my feet at 45-60 minute intervals anyway; why on earth am I not using that time wisely? Plus, I generally have waaay more momentum on Mondays, and Tuesdays are often spent out of the house, then by Wednesday, the week is slipping by me and nana-duty starts popping up unexpectedly, yada yada yada -- So -- that's why I started vacuuming after I put the first load in.
I'm still not finished with the vacuuming -- dh is doing video exercises with his balance-board contraption in the bedroom.
Since supper, ds came over to try on those clothes (and took a load of shirts home with him. I know ddil was thrilled because ds is already taking up a lot more than his share of the closet space over there.) We went for a short ride, got gas & cash for tomorrow, and then I've been finishing laundry and shopping online ever since. Does it still count as working on my "zone -- Christmas" if I'm buying mostly for myself?
I say YES because dh is having trouble doing his normal shopping trip this year, and he wants me to spend about twice what I've already spent. I'm wrapping it all up and acting like I'm surprised on Christmas Eve when we open gifts, too. I'm really kinda excited about opening gifts because it IS all truly EXACTLY what I wanted!
We had a BIG rain last night, Nancy, but the "chance of snow" certainly did not materialize for us. I am sooo glad, seeing that we will be on the road tomorrow. Hope you get your battery trouble fixed soon!
Blessed, my dmom called this morning, fussing about her tree lights again. I know I should go out there and at least make an effort towards helping her with this, but I cannot even put into words how frustrated I get when the lights don't work on my own tree. * sigh *
MAYBE Wednesday I will stop there on my way to doing my necessary in-store shopping in Next Town. * sigh *
LOL -- I told her to just give it up and get one of those color wheels like people used to use on aluminum trees.
More LOL -- she said her first thought this morning was that she should "hire _____ to cuss" for her. ROFLOL... The person she named would be a good one, we agreed. My mother is not given to vulgar language. She used to wouldn't allow me to say c r a p and I remember she once spelled out H e l l when she was REALLY furious.
Waving to ALL!!! I don't want ANYONE to feel overlooked or "invisible" -- sometimes I feel that way because I'm always posting late at night when most reasonable people have settled down for the night -- but I am thinking of you ALL. The other night, I couldn't sleep and went through all our group here in my mind, and pictured you each in your parts of the world, and prayed for God's blessings upon you and your needs at this time. We are so fortunate for the most part, that Covid has not hit our little village harder than it has, but it has touched all our lives, and this has been a hard year for all of us. I am truly praying that things are better in many, many ways, in the coming year.

Re: Make my day, Monday!!
I suspect this has happened all over. I think it will take some time for us to know the long term effect C19 is having on the educational system. At a minimum, I suspect a large percentage of the students will have to repeat a grade.THOUSANDS of kids in our state have simply disappeared from the schoo
When our local B&M school closed this month, they told the kids to sign on to Edgenuity and do 2 lessons a week in each subject. I was shocked at this pace. It is less than 1/4 of what DD9 is required to do in her online school. But on the other hand, it is better than doing nothing. Last time the B&M school shut down the kids did nothing.
I watched "50 First Dates" again. I've watched this movie many times but never grow tired of it.

Re: Make my day, Monday!!
Don't worry, Lucylee, I'm still here. I always figure nobody reads my late night posts, but I read yours if I'm up or I check the next morning, and you probably get mine! I guess we're the late night twins!
Busy Busy day. I've had a change in plans and now plan to do whole batches of cookies and 2 or 3 pies...probably needed at our gathering. I took care of a couple end of year checks to get through the system before the year is over. I stopped at one bank and cashed one and deposited other at the other bank. The personal account doesn't matter if it doesn't go through till 2021 but the business account does. I hate to have a bunch of outstanding stuff to explain to the cpa. Got business mileage caught up Aug thru Dec and a small earnings check for DH.
Stopped by K ohls to do a tiny bit of shopping for DGS fiance. Can't leave her out. She has her ring now and her family is sooo excited about the whole thing, they gave her the preserved wedding gown of her mother to do with what she wanted. It's a year 1/2 away still. I got her a pretty Christmas necklace and a small Christmas stocking knitted with her initial.
It was spooky in that store. Very very empty in each department. Only 1 or 2 salespersons in whole store. Quite a few displays had no prices anywhere. I was glad to get out of there.
Went to supermarket and got all the stuff I need for cookies and pies. Which was a lot of stuff. I got a few groceries but mostly it was all about the baking.
Came home and dealt with all that and used up the leftover chicken. Some in my chicken broth, the rest I sauteed up onions, celery, carrots and cooked them in gravy and made a chicken pot pie the easy way with crescent roll stuff for the top. Wasn't as good as my real pot pie recipe but it was good and filling and hot and done!
Dishes done. Sat down in my recliner and slept the rest of the evening. Whew!
LadyM, you should be very proud of what your kids have accomplished in this very difficult situation. They did not do it on their own, it is because you worked so hard too. You all deserve a break!

Re: Make my day, Monday!!
Lost one post trying again. Broke down in tears, missing the expertise h. Had with rig upkeep. Inconvient timing on the jeep to quit during the holidays.
The dog was consoling!
Stayed home to isolate after turkey day & then it snowed bit me in the b u t t .
Missing the school music programs and other gatherings this year.
Miss not being able to shop in person lots of retal stores have closed before cv-19, shopko, k-mart.
I have a string of lights that quit also my wool dod not come again today.
Did the dishes then found more on the table.
Took my Rx. Heading to bed on a few.
Did listen to one of the music performances probably from previous year.
Snow has melted.
Our state had a notice the had a mistake and numbers had been double counted during the Thanksgiving season.
Saw that masks only help 1% of the time.

Harmony — are you attending a large gathering now, or just baking for others?

Good to see the other night owls!
All my vacuuming is done, all my laundry is done, AND I have resisted temptation to indulge in late night snacking!
