Even though we’re well stocked with ingredients and ready-to-eat food, I couldn’t resist picking up a pan of King Ranch Chicken from a local restaurant tonight. They only make it about once a month, and it’s a family favorite we’ve enjoyed before. For $25, we got a super tasty pan of food that will give the family multiple servings. Win-Win!

Thirty five minute phone call and I think we're making progress on the cemetery. We'll all meet, I hope. Offered to use my laptop and computer Zoom account to host meeting if needed.

So I'm late getting our supper made and that stresses me. And I'm starting the year out wanting to do too much and frustrating myself. Just happened to read this today also: Why it's okay to take your time..... https://simplyorganized.me/2026/01/new- ... -time.html

From the end of the article:
“Progress over perfection. Systems over stuff. Maintenance over makeovers.”
I spent my 15 min in the garage picking some of the low fruit - the stuff that's easy to get rid of. Checked to see how many year's pd bills we had there and found 2016 pd bill file. Moved all to shred box, which now has go to the UPS store for shredding. They contract with a company who picks it all up there. Beats buying a shredder that's going to overheat. I also took some of the stuff that needs to go to charity and loaded in my car, along with the Home Depot item that needs to be returned. No wonder I'm tired today.

Tomorrow I only have my workout at two. I think dh will be out in the p.m. - he's not bowling but goes to hang out with his team. I need to do my to-do list for tomorrow

We have 8 teens here tonight. DS17 pulled in the driveway from work and 2 more vehicles immediately pulled in behind him. DS17 picks GF up every night on his way home from work, so there are 5 extra teens along with our normal 3.

I got a baby shower invite from DS17 best friend & his girlfriend that is pregnant. I have been scrolling through their baby registry on A-river trying to decide on gift.

I discovered that there were some things left in the dryer from last night, so I put them on the wrinkle free cycle. It takes "20" minutes. So I decided to do the pans in the sink along with the large utensils and knives that were also in the sink. Got all those done, slowly because my back started to hurt. Just as I finished putting the last piece on the dish rack, the dryer started singing it's song to let me know it was finished for the moment. I opened the door of the washer and found the 3 heavy towels that were still in there from last night, so now they are in the dryer.

While they are getting dried, I have the pot from tonight's pasta along with that dish from last night's fish. I will be happier in the morning if I get those done before I go to bed.

I had a delightfully hot shower tonight as well.

Meteorologist are predicting a possible sleeper tornado hitting us between 6am-7am tomorrow. I don't remember ever having tornado in January much less one at sunrise. The whole thing seems too weird to believe, but I plan to stay aware.

Teenage girls are in the house talking. Teenage boys are in the shop doing whatever guys do to vehicles.

I'm about ready to find a program to watch and settle in to relax a bit before going to bed.

Do the teenage girls include dd14 in their conversation and activities, LadyM? (I'm assuming they're a little older since they are driving or riding with boys who drive.) I was just wondering if she felt included in their circle -- or if she even wants to be included.
Ditto all blessed said -- you do manage all this amazingly well, especially as activities increase based on LordM's abilities and all you do with the teens, too!

I like that organizing article, Twins. I'm copying a bit of it here for everyone:

1. Write down everything that’s bothering you about your home organization (or lack thereof)
2. Don’t prioritize yet—just brain dump
3. Walk away from the list for a day or two
4. Come back and choose just 1-3 items to focus on for the entire first quarter

(Nope, didn't try to do it the new way. Cathy's way is easier. ;) )

I was watching a short YT last night about planning for no more than a quarter at a time. This video talked about planning one HABIT goal and one PROJECT goal per month. I realized tax info should be my project for February, and probably starting tomorrow -- since I did get Christmas all put away and everything back to normal tonight. I even vacuumed the den/kitchen/dining room.

I also went to chair yoga.

Plus -- found the other tv remote -- under the quilt in the bed! It got made up in the clean bedding last night.

Kept dgrands while ds and ddil went to chiropractor and supper tonight. Took dgs to church to go to T*co B*ll with youth group, dgd and I had S*bway AND S*nic (for ice cream) and I have eaten waaay too much tonight. I did walk 15 minutes indoors.

Heading to bed now and it's not even 12:30. I'll have to shower in the morning, but I need to wash my hair and I had rather do that in the morning.
Tomorrow is another day.
