Show Kindness Saturday
I am in need of kindness toward myself. Anyone else need kindness today too?

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
I didn't have my best night and woke up groggy, sick to my stomach and low energy. With nothing on my calendar today, I thought about taking the day off and doing as little as possible. But I instantly rebelled at that thought because I enjoy my daily routines too much to willingly give them up, even for just one day. I compromised with myself and decided to slow my pace down and add more breaks today. Being kind to myself is always important but especially on days like today.
--------------updating after taking a shower and washing my hair------------------
I am so glad that I decided not to sit around today. After a couple short walks outside and breathing in the fresh air, my energy level is returning. The mere thought of food makes me nauseous so that part of recovery is still waiting to happen. I washed my hair, dried it, and put in curlers (rare) just because I felt like it. It’s such a small act, but the creativity of doing something differently brings me joy.

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
LM Wed. I felt like that in the morning & mid day. And a walk helped me too.
I was up until just before mid nite - up at 6:00 on my sleep reset
not sure it's working.
I am pleased with bullet journal reset putting goals prompts in it for my reset on that seems to be going well.
I'm writing in verses to have like quotes.
Some top 3 reminders from a Bible study I did last Feb. is great too.
Today I'm feeling blessed have 4 crock pots I realized!
I am using the next to largest one for some country style country ribs with veg.
after reading Harriet's post from last night thinking I could add some beans to it!
House smells amazing now!
I did a kit. spiff after that.
Then got the Trash bagged up and taken out to the can.
Other prompts help like 3 things you are proud of from the past week? [Are helpful to me as well.]
Have a great day every one!
------
Cooking Day;
Mixed up some home made bread it's done.
Corn bread for dog treats too.
Another kitchen spiff up happened.
My q. is
What to do when kindness bites you people do not listen when you are kind and rough shod over you?
Kindness did not always work for me. Just sayin'.

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
Hi!
IF I ever have to go to a laundromat again, please remind me to never go on a Saturday!! By the time I left there were numerous people waiting for machines to become available. It was $5 for a load, which took 30 minutes if "turbo spin" was selected.
Any way... I did one load that really needed to be done. I can catch up on stuff after the appliance guy gets back, even if it means taking another load to a laundromat on a week day.

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
Good afternoon!
I'm awfully out of it today. Getting very distracted by the YouTube videos DC is watching. Many cute animals and people being silly about Pokemon.
Made grilled cheese for lunch because I dozed off in my chair this morning and the last thing I dreamt of was a gooey grilled cheese sandwich. DD made tomato soup to go alongside, but I opted for a couple of mandarins. It's finally Klondike, so DH is out for the whole day with the Scouts. DD and I agree that rather than cooking, we should have pizza for supper. I've been craving it for a week now.
Glad walks are doing people good. I should do some walking on my treadmill, but I discovered yesterday that my pedometer doesn't pick it up the I walk on there. I don't know if I'm leaning too much on the bar or what. But regardless of what the pedometer thinks, I'm sure my body knows the difference.
You could host a buffet with all those crockpots, Nancy!
I guess, Cathy, that I've been fortunate that the few times I've needed to go to the laundromat have been on weekdays.
I'm glad you're being kind to yourself, LadyM. You take care of so many things for others that it would be a shame to not take care of yourself, too.
I need to do another brain dump today. My previous one is about half crossed off, and I know there are things that are higher priority than the things that are left on it. One thing I need to do is clean out my dresser; between me finally keeping up with the laundry on the regular and DH giving me clothes for Christmas, it's bursting at the seams. I'm avoiding doing whites today because of it -- the underwear drawer is full! But that's the most full basket in the sorter, so I'm not sure what I will wash. Ah! I know! I've got a bag of my mother's old clothes that I need to donate, but I've been putting it off because I wanted to wash them first. (Not that they're unwashed -- if they were, after this long, I don't think washing would do them good.) It will be good to have them out of the way. As ever, laundry's the next card up, so I guess that's what I'll do. Sending you all warm fuzzies for your day!

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
I reached a point of not feeling sick when I thought about food, so I decided to make myself some warm chicken broth. Without thinking about it I started adding just one more ingredient. Why just have chicken broth when i have chicken available? And there are some chopped onions and garlic from the garden so I'll add those to the broth because that will be good for gut. I won't bore your with listing the additional 7 vegetables I added to what was going to be a simple chicken broth. I was forced to stop adding vegetables when the pot got full.
I asked DD14 to spend an hour in the spare bedroom this morning before making her decision about resetting her bedroom tomorrow. She agreed to try it and laid on the guest bed while talking with her friends. She was okay with the bed and admitted it was bigger than her bedroom and had walk-in closet and private bathroom. However, she sees no reason to switch bedrooms. I thanked her for giving it a try and told her she could change her mind in the future. So tomorrow's bedroom reset won't include room swapping. Secretly, I am very pleased because I love using that bathroom. IMHO it is the perfect design and definitely my favorite bathroom in this house. I would have swapped bathrooms with DD14 if she wanted to switch bedrooms but now, I don't have to.

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
mom was up late last night so I am tired a bit. I may take a nap.
I want to plan menus today.
I should make the quiche I had planned to make - so that if I take a nap that mom has food.
I also think I need to do a brain dump
I would like to clean the refrigerator

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
I'm glad I didn't decide to go to the laundromat in the tiny town just west of us because it is closed with plywood over the windows. I'm sure it's a very recent closure. No wonder the other one was so crazy busy this morning!
I went back out this afternoon and got some more hot chocolate and I may have treated myself to 3 bags of potato chips because they were on sale. I also picked up a prescription that was waiting at the pharmacy.

Re: Show Kindness Saturday
Bread was yummy with hot soup after a brisk walk.
It was a shortened one b/c of the wind.
My prayer journal is just a comp notebook I put notes in it.
Verses from study book, and prompts questions and dear God letter.
It's full as up today, I started in Dec. I have a writing one and it's nearly full.
I have put the left over soup after my lunch out on the deck to cool.
----
I got the kitchen spiffy again after I jars up the soup.
